Serial number is listed in your battle.net account.

Call Blizzard support. I'm sure they can help you find it if it exists somewhere or get it for you by confirming the credit card information.
-edit: ninja'd. But still Blizz support can walk you through this as well.

Does installing XP Professional over XP Professional create the windows.old folder?
Googling this question gives both yes and no. I've never worked with XP before, so I need to be absolutely sure that my dad won't lose all his files by doing this.

I can't/don't know how to back up from a broken computer. My dad's computer crashes on boot. 'Invalid boot.ini file' -> pick any boot option -> BSOD 'PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGE_REGISTER' or something like that. I tried the repair console from disc and it BSOD's from that as well. My last option is to reinstall windows, but if this was Vista/7, all the old files would be moved to 'windows.old' after reformatting. I don't know if XP does this as well. This is what I need to know for sure.
Because if XP does save everything to windows.old, like the newer windows, this is no big deal. If it clears everything, he'll probably want to take it to a repair shop to see if they can salvage the data.

Oh wow I hadn't even thought of that. I already had a Mint 13 flash drive laying around. I'm in, and we're transferring the files now. Thanks man.

Hey guys I'm looking to get a new laptop for college. I was just wondering if http://www.digitalstormonline.com/gaminglaptops.asp was a good place to get one. I am looking at the xm15 best model. What do you guys think of it. Is it worth the money and would it be able to run games like sc2, WoW, and LoL smoothly?

Please advice me with a motherboard, im rly confused on whats the differences between: Asus P8P67-M PRO Rev. 3.0 and ASUS SABERTOOTH P67 Edit: also was thinking about this mobo Asrock Socket Skt 1155 Intel P67 Extreme4 Gen3 ATX Motherboard
The p8p67 is almost twice cheaper, and i dont know why is that..
I got i5 2500k CPU that i plan on overclocking to ~4,5 ghz got palit gtx 560ti (plan on getting a 2nd one later, so i need SLI for motherboard) (also plan on overclocking)
Is it worth getting the p8p67-m motherboard over the sabertooth? can anyone tell me whats the Main difference between them? Also i plan on streaming games in very high quality, can a motherboard have any 'affects' about this?

Hello, im planning to get a new mouse and Im wondering if anyone has/tried/ or seen reviews of the Corsair M90 mouse. It seems good but i've read reviews and it seems a lot of people are having trouble with the software and apparently making the mouse useless. Is this mouse good or should I go with a different mouse? Also if this mouse is indeed really bad, can someone list a good mouse at less than 70$ in Canada that has an ergonomic design kinda like the Deathadder 3.5G.
Thank you very much. :D

Sabertooth carries a five year warranty as opposed to the three of the P8P67-M Pro, has a Marvell and JMicron controller powering SATA and eSATA ports as opposed to just a Marvell, has an Intel NIC as opposed to Realtek, is ATX as opposed to mATX, has more phases, more USB ports, USB3 header, a productive covering, etc. Features don't come free...
Motherboard has no effect on streaming.

Is the free version of XSplit any good? I wanted to record two or three videos for Youtube directly from my screen, but I don't want to pay for just those videos. Does the free version work well, and if not, do you guys have any suggestions for other software?

Sorry i dont rly know what these features mean.. i dont really care about warranties or usb ports, all i want is the right socket and that it has sli and that i can overclock my gpu and cpu on it, thats basically all i want, no fancy stuff
If these motherboards dont have any effect on streaming or gaming, and they only differ by such features like usb ports, i think im going to buy the cheapest one (p867-m pro)
Unless i completely misunderstood ur reply ?
Anyways, thx for helping, much appreciated

Does the free version work well, and if not, do you guys have any suggestions for other software? If you're soley recording footage (not streaming) give MSI afterburner a shot. It seems to have the lowest impact from online comparisons I've seen, and is easy to use with very easy quality control settings.

Anyways, thx for helping, much appreciated Buy the cheapest one, yes. You only buy a more expensive motherboard for features if you know you need them and what they do, unless the lowest models are complete shit, which that one in particular isn't. Expensive motherboards are for power users, enthusiasts or (primarily) misguided idiots with more money than sense.

They're all capable of a moderate overclock at least.
The more important thing here is your desire to SLI.
p867-m is not SLI certified EDIT: oops did not look at the Pro... yes it is SLI certified, but the rest of this is still true: you do not want to do SLI on it (or any microATX board). The 2nd card pretty much always blocks SATA ports or front panel headers or something else.
Your best choices for SLI-capable boards will be one of these (doesn't matter which, but if price is the same go for Z77, especially since it has native USB3 and front-panel headers): ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 or Z77 Extreme4 Asus P8Z77-V LK Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H

Hey guys, what kind of settings can I get with a pentium G620 in starcraft 2? Primarily 1v1's, but things like monobattles wouldn't be ruled out.
Anandtech indicates 33FPS on ultra, but I think that's just average. I would mainly be looking for medium quality gaming (both GPU and CPU) at 1080P. I have the graphics handled, I'm just wondering, can the G620 handle that?

here's a question what's the program that removes programs from running on startup and takes them out the the msconfig list? I've seen it before but can't remember its name.

The Pentium 620 can handle anything with the right graphics card, what I am basically saying is you will be limited by your graphics card and not this CPU
