I recently purchased this keyboard, although I haven't gotten it yet, it's my Christmas present. Technically my dad bought it but w/e.

Based on everything I've read and researched on this keyboard it is made by the same manufacturer as filco majestouch's(it has cherry switches) and has the same quality with a much lower price tag. I am soooo excited to use this keyboard.
I'm not making this thread to discuss it as a keyboard, although feel free to do so, but instead I wanted to let you all know that this amazing keyboard is right there up on Newegg for only $100. I would really suggest this to anyone that wants a Filco but hasn't been able to get one because of the price/availability.
The only possible drawback on this keyboard is that you can only get it with blue switches, personally blues are what I wanted so when I found this keyboard I was ecstatic.

I've been waiting for a sale...they were at $70 or so sometime earlier this year
let us know how it is when you get it  the reviews on the egg are great as well

The only thing I don't like about it is its logo. =/

Yea one of the reviews I read said something about getting it for cheaper, so if your looking for this board even cheaper make sure to look around because you might find one.
I'll definitely let you guys know how it is when I open it on Christmas :D, or beforehand if I can find out where my parents hid it.

Nice, the more mech keyboards the better.
Blue is good, but man, MX Brown switches are really pretty hard to come by right now since EK sold out of the Filco Majestouch.
Seems like every mechanical in the US is either blue or black switches.

Because everyone wants a flico like the fruitdealers and das keyboard doesn't look like a flico at a distance.

ABS is a in house brand to newegg similar to rosewill. The craze here is not at all based in any science that the mech keyboards will play better for a game like sc2 then a cheap membrane one, but totally based on OMFG that programmer used it!

It's because FruitDealer used a Filco.
The Das Keyboard, ABS M1, and the Filco are both manufactured by Costar (which iirc is some Chinese brand)
However, the ABS M1 is NOT the Rosewill keyboard. The ABS M1 used ALPS Black switches which have like a 65g activation force while the new Rosewills have Cherry Blues.

can i get the red esc/wasd keys for the filco and use it on the das? are all cherry keycaps the same?

I am also really interested in hearing if this is a good keyboard. I was really interested in getting a keyboard from flico with blue keys! So if reviews are good i could hit a jackpot with this!

As far as I know no one got this board for $70. I was the guinea pig and argued with Chiefvalue when their $70 original coupon didn't work because the item was deactivated.
Coupon expired before item was reactivated, got a $25 courtesy credit after order. This stacked with a $3 off coupon that I could use on the order (since the $25 wasn't a coupon, it was a credit back to me, so it bypassed the one coupon per order rule).
A couple days later it was $75.
Then it was $99 for a few days. Back to $85 without coupon, free ship on CV and $8 ship on Newegg.
Then back to $99, but Newegg offered an ABS headset. I know a number of people bought the board, ebayed the headset for $30, and essentially got the board for $70 (but newegg charged $8 shipping).
tl;dr I don't think the board ever actually sold at $70.

This keyboard uses Cherry MX Blues (a far superior switch), actually has NKRO, and lacks the build quality issues. I own an M1, this board, and a couple of MX Brown Filcos.

Filco/Rosewill profiles are the same. I know DAS uses the same stabilizers but I'm not 100% positive, ask on Geekhack.

I own a couple Filcos and I was the guinea pig for the RK-9000 and I can confrim the build quality on the RK-9000 is great. It's a Filco in all but brand (a few other inside the box differences; no PS/2 adapter included [but they're 99 cents online and NKRO works over them], braided cable, more durable lasered keycaps...those are the big ones).

A lot of keyboard aficionados look for quality in the keycaps as well, and the Das generally do not do so well in that area - their keycaps tend to get worn and shiny very fast. Also, their base price with shipping puts them in the Filco range, so it's only worth it if you can get the student discount (24% off).

The M1 has terrible build quality - it gave a bad reputation to mech keyboards when it was sold for $20 bucks a while ago and a ton of people bought it.

I ordered this keyboard literally yesterday and I didn't see that, nor is anything mentioned in the invoices I got through email.

Yea when I was looking at it a couple days ago they weren't offering the headphones. When I ordered mine like 2 weeks ago they were. I have no idea why.
Don't buy the keyboard for the headphones though lol, I read the reviews for those and they seem like a pos.

I've been looking to get a mechanical keyboard for christmas and this is the one I'm probably going to get.
I wanted to get cherry browns but filco's are sold out and I've heard some bad things about das keyboard (plus its really expensive). Hopefully ill still like the cherry blues on this keyboard, some people tell me they're bad for gaming but good for typing? (that part doesn't make sense to me)
Anyway let me know what you think of this keyboard once you get it.
