I literally had to do no more than take all the numbers from his Wikipedia earnings page and add it all up, to see that they underestimate it by a good 10 grand. And that's just Wikipedia, which itself is incomplete (and I've been able to find more tournament earnings not listed there within a couple of minutes). Just saying yo. Fatal1ty is easily the most monetarily successful in terms of tournament winnings, he's made well over 500k, of course not counting any other deals, salaries, sponsorships and endorsements, of which he's also had plenty. ^^ No doubt esportsearnings isn't complete, but it didn't take long to find a mistake in the Wikipedia page, where Fatal1ty was listed as earning 10,000 USD instead of 1,000 in ESWC 2004. Another Wikipedia prize that wasn't in esportsearnings, the XSR Invitational in 2000, gives Fatal1ty $15000 but a Google search shows disputes between whether the prize was 15000 or "Bragging Rights". And the last event Wiki has but not esportsearnings, is his result "1st CPL Australia ($10,500)" in Quake III. I can't find any sources for or against this, but the other Quake III national CPL events (Holland, Brazil) didn't seem to earn him any money (or maybe they did and THOSE events are missing sources? I really don't know). So in conclusion, I dunno, I won't side with any earnings site, but I believe the possibility of Fatal1ty's (and JD's) earnings to be < MC's+$100,000 to be plausible.

how about the foreigners train harder, stop sucking, and step up their game. many foreigners past and present could compete with koreans because they put in the work and it showed. the rest don't deserve a free pass. sc2 is essentially a meritocracy (ignoring the coin flippy build order wins) and not a welfare state. this is the harsh reality of life, if you don't work hard, you're going to get surpassed. don't know why everyone is crying about a basic fact.

It's actually the reason I love Elfi so much even when he doesn't deliver.

I admit it feels more special when you got some foreigners to cheer for. Though as a Swede i'm pretty happy with Naniwa, it's such a hard lineup tho so you''ll need more luck than ever, skill isn't enough here i think. But if any foreigner got a chance , it's Naniwa. But we should be glad it's only the best of the best that are competing.

It is sad, and IMHO one of the biggest reasons SC2 seems to be past its peak popularity. While the Koreans are the best players, no doubt, it makes the tournaments much less appealing to us casual fans and the masses when we cannot cheer for our countrymen or women. I am sure the games will be great ...

It's fun to watch Koreans in GSL and Pro league, but when they dominate elsewhere in the world as much as they do, it tends to get boring. Right now I'm even excited if a foreigner wins versus a Korean in Ro32.
