this will be interesting. b4 patch tvz was roughly 50% according to blizz, So after patch thats going to drop like hell and mech will be more common as it did get better from the patch so therefore more pros will use it. Then once we get to tournaments we will have tvz's going on for around 1 hour a piece and because blizz is all about exciting fast games they will hate mech becauses it to slow boring and a turtle fest and will have two choices, either A) actually fix mech and make it decent and viable at tournament level play or B) nerf it into the ground which is counter productive to everything they have been trying to do since they released hots and show they never actually cared to make it viable in the first place ever. Mech is on a clock, either ti will be balanced soon or never, lets see what it is.

Oracles were already ridiculously strong...no other unit can deal that much damage to non-clumped workers in that time period.
The game is balanced. We just suck.

Roach burrowing speed was going to improve to 2.25. Now it will only be 2.00.

Actually don't know what all the negativity is about. I mean sure the changes are gonna affect gameplay based on current strats (playing Z i'm really happy with the widow mine nerf), but I'm sure after a couple of weeks we'll see people work out new and more interesting strats to get around the buffs/nerfs. I actually like balance patches because the period that follows them becomes a big time for experimentation and innovation, rather than people just sticking to the same old things over and over again. Old strats become more viable again and new ones get developed.. pretty exciting times.

It helps with getting roaches past/out of force fields without losing so many. Maybe you should try playing the game before you complain about how worthless things are.

So zergs have finally learned to deal with bio/mine play and they nerf mines?? And how much crack was David Kim on when he thought up that nerfing mines and "buffing" tanks would make bio play more interesting? Its not bio play if there are tanks involved because it becomes a slow siege push as opposed to the quick stim sprints of pure bio or bio/mine armies. Totally flawed logic there..

And seriously on the freakin oracle buff?? Those are already ridiculously hard to kill with unstimmed marines, now theyre going to be impossible..David Kim is ignorant if he thinks that only people who are really good with oracle micro will be able to keep them alive and average people will see no difference. That kind of speed gives the played a much larger margin for error.

And way to limit the options in TvT even further with these changes. Tanks shoot faster so it will be harder for marines to close the distance and snipe them, therefore making mech that much stronger than bio/tank, and combined with the armory upgrade we're just gonna see even more campy tank heavy TvTs with possible late game transitions to sky. Overall very saddened by the state of SC2, and can easily see why pros and fans are leaving the game for greener pastures :/

The burrow buff is cool however, I always felt like that was an underutilized tool that zergs had, but with all the nerfs this year to terran I think its finally time to switch to Brotoss. I may have stuck with terran through the twilight of WOL, but that was only because the hope for what HOTS would bring was always there..I just cant play a race thats always getting nerfed anymore...

What is your reasoning behind this? tunneling Roaches are going to be massively powerful in a capable players hands. Getting all of that in one upgrade might be imbalanced.

You say that now. Then once it becomes a standard part of the metagame in at least 2 of the matchups, you'll be eating those words. It's really powerful, as far as I could tell from the balance maps.

i cant see this going well for t in tvz. The tank buff is far too small to offset the mine nerf. It also seems blizzard is more concerned about unit variety than actual balance in some cases.

in tvz it feels a bit better cause you can see the macro/eco difference now when Z takes like 4-6 bases. since WM isnt as cost efficient as before, it shows better eco will prevail. it will force T to macro more than do a 4m parade, for terrans trying to figure stuff out, try going to WOL builds and intergrate some Mines in. it will help trust me. The roach speed is helpfull on some ocassion and oracle is a bit crazy, but it does make toss open it up more which is good i guess. the roach speed is good on some occasion but im trying to figure out how to use it properly. i think they did it to stop the immortal sentry all in but the timing hit earlier than when you can actualy finish the upgrade.
