Sounds interesting. I'm curious what this will bring. I hope they'll test this well before actually patching, though...

This this this. No one is gonna get prisms before collosi. This buff will be the sprinkles on top of the collosi/voidray cake.

Warp Gate/Gateway units ARE in need of some change. In small numbers, they hold up well versus other races tier 1 units, but as armies get larger, they become useless except for tanking.

Absolutely NO. Protoss has so many allins already. They should get a buff that helps their midgame.

Sorry but this is laughable. An upgrade needed for mutas? that's not a buff to protoss that will just mess up zerg across the board...not really relavent here


unless you are ranked higher than me as random, which you're not (because i can tell instantly - ZERG), i dont want to hear how buying a cheap upgrade would make mutas bad.. I play random and am top 8 or top 25 masters depending on how much time i have to play per week
last time i checked, mutalisk were dominating ZvZ and 8-10 gas geyser muta switches are killing top level protoss even when they seem to be prepared for them. I'm not trying to call you out, but an upgrade for mutas,e ven if it's short and very cheap might be exactly what needs to happen..

what's laughable, is giving protoss a speed drop upgrade to help them drop zealots into super cheap spore/spine forests in PvZ late game easier and making me lose TvP's constantly because warp prisms are extremely strong in early pvt especially if you consider all of the blind "better have it's" in this matchup like missile turrets and bunkers in numbers of 2-3 if you're unsure what P is doing..


This really doesn't have anything to do with the thread (and that idea is still pretty funny), the issue is about warp prism speed, and it's a great way to increase their mobility to get around/attack before those counters youre listing up. that's the point

Are protoss actually underperforming?

In any case, as a protoss, I'd really like this change. Robobay + upgrade really is quite an investment for a fast prism, and fast prisms are a lot of fun.

not sure about this. I would rather see medivac boost nerfed tbh rather than warp prism buffed.

I was wondering when Blizzard would do something; half of Blizzard's front page on general forums is "protoss sucks" and "protoss needs to be redesigned" threads. It reached a pretty comical level. No other race had posts like that. You know it's bad when players that don't even play protoss are talking about how bad the race is.

As for warp prism speed, I'm very nostalgic when it comes to BW and fond of the philosophy of it should be possible to kill dropships/transporting units. I want to feel like it's possible to lose a warp prism, or when I'm watching a game that there is some risk attached to a medivac drop. Either make everything slower or give everyone a scourge... it honestly tilts me and feels dirty knowing there's now way in hell my warp prism will die.

I'm tired of winning games against swarm hosts and feeling so compelled to quit SC 2. Winning games against swarm hosts are even harder on me than tough losses. There's nothing more painful and ridiculous than playing against swarm hosts on some of these maps. Winning or losing is completely irrelevant. It's always a horrible feeling.

A change to counter swarm hosts? Lol. Warp prims already don't die. You can already snipe their main, etc, etc,. But, you can't ever engage their army because you know it's never going to be anywhere near cost efficient. So, you have to play an hour long game where you try to get every expo and make sure they have no mining bases, and then you still are afraid to engage and are simply trying to pick 1 or 2 swarm hosts off here and there. The game is a complete fuck job and this is a joke if this is supposed to help. I didn't realize warp prisms spawned free units. I guess warp in's must be free, as long as via the warp prism. If that doesn't sound balanced, then maybe the swarm host shouldn't, either.

Blizz should search for a way to balance non-allinish PvZ, a way aka a considerable change.

This buff is not gonna change anything at higher levels.

I like the idea of this buff but not the fact that it will make some all ins more effective... Maybe give the upgrade automatically once the robotic bay is built ?
