Quit being whining little beaches, and actually show some love to GSL for even coming to IPL for fuck sakes. I fully agree with that, a really good player should do well in both week-end tournaments like IPL's and Dreamhack's and preparation tournament like GSL.
And as someone said, why does this receives complains but not the Blizzard Cup?

Top 5 GSL Not scarlett. I'd say mana or maybe maybe major. ROFL not scarlett?? Are you crazy? Scarlett is better than Nerchio, thorzain, MaNa, AND Major.... You clearly haven't watched her play very much... Also, you forgot about VortiX... Should be NaNi, Stephano, Scarlett, VortiX, and SaSe or ThorZaIN or Nerchio
You are not really objective here, are you? Scarlett has nothing going for here except for winning WCS Canada which wasn't really that stucked tournament. Saying that she is better than MaNa - recent DH winner - or Nerchio - recent HSC winner and non korean no. 2 ELO player behind Stephano - or ThorZaIN - who actually proven that he can beat very good koreans - is ridiculous.
Nevertheless the idea of Ro8, semis and final of GSL in one weekend is plain stupid. From the title I assumed that the Ro8 alone will be played with semis and GF back in korea.

I don't like it much.
And I'd have loved to see the World Championship done in Korea, that's what was the most interesting part about it last time for me.
At IPL5, it'll be just another showmatch.

Blizzard Cup is Blizzard Cup. It just happens to be hosted by GomTV. Code S is GSL Code S. It is known to operate with a week or more between games.

stephano wins gsl and ipl

I really hate to say this but I don't like the move GOM made here. Unless GOM is 100% doing their own thing in (Cosmopolitan was it?) I don't see this turning out good at all unfortunately. And even then this will never reach the production value of code S finals in Korea. I just don't see them pulling decent enough audience in Vegas to give the true feeling of eSports where the crowd is roaring and cheering.
Wish they would've partnered up with dreamhack for example. Code S finals in Dreamarena <3! OR.. Take Iron Squid event for example, smaller organisation, not the same budget as bigger organisations BUT kickass venue, decent production and you can count on the French to be ROARING in excitement.
Just my 2ct.

Did tournaments not learn anything from MLG Spring/WCS?
Multiple tournaments at one event, with players participating in both is a terrible idea.

so scarlett huh? you know winning Canada nationals is not that big of a deal... even winning NA continentals wouldn't be
Naniwa Stephano Nerchio Mana (I'm sure Mana will be even more of a beast after some months of training in korea than he already is) maybe thorzain but just to have a terran in there

During Dreamhack Summer, there were also the E-sport SM Grand Final, and it was all scheduled in a way that players could play in both.

Scarlett lol? No idea who's going, but for the foreigner team best line-up would definitely be;
Naniwa, Stephano, Nerchio, Thorzain, Kas
Thought that was pretty unanimous actually. Perhaps rotate somebody out for MaNa could work also. If you wan't the best foreigner team then that's it.

So a 5 - 0 for the Koreans and hopefull and interesting Series to end out the GSL. (going by yesterdays IPL TAC) Fine i'll be optimistic! 5 - 1 for Korea!
Don't like the Ro8 to Finals in 1 weekend though, I like that players can prepare special stuff for there oppononts in the normal format.

I'll put SaSe somewhere. :p Perhaps instead of Kas, because if Kas has proven he's a monster in the EU scene, he never really beat koreans that often.

Well, if IPL continues to decrease in quality, then this is not really something to look forward to, unless GSL produces their own shit and doesn't let IPL touch anything.
|
Don't get why Gom is making all the efforts outside of Korea when Sc2 is doing super bad in Korea, and that's the market they should be worried about. :p
|
you guys are failing to realize that the players will have normal prep time for the ro8. they will also have a full day for ro4 and another full day to prepare for the final which is not like a normal weekend tournament at all.
