can people calm the fuck down and wait for beta to launch? Everyone seems to be jumping the gun on balance atm.. we don't know how things will play out when professionals get their hands on the game

Eh.. It doesn't look good.. I almost fell asleep. I don't understand the idea behind entomb; They want to give protoss more harass option, okay, but entomb have 0 spectating value and it's just boring. Nobody will go WOOOOW! That entomb man! Requires some sick micro and multitasking!

The Warhound is really really ugly

They wanted to get rid of the deathball, but this battlereport showed nothing but two blobs of aliens and humans smashing each other. But, I don't want too much to extrapolate from this low level of play.. I hope we will see better things from the pros.
I hope they hear our concerns and the beta comes soon enough so we can correct these defaults before it's too late.

Map complaints are silly, this is obviously just whatever random map they could pick, most likely not even meant to be played lol. Players were instructed to show the new stuff, while day9 was instructed to hype (or most likely, hired, to do that).

Focus on what matters, the units and their gameplay implications, the details of the player's performances are completely irrelevant.

It does the DPS of a Roach, costs 300/300/6, and takes 75 seconds to build. Wouldn't get your hopes up.


v. 300/250/4 and 74 build time. Less dps but a lot more range. I don't play toss (or zerg for that matter) so I have no skin in the matchup but it seems to serve a similar role.

It's not a balance issue, at all. It's the direction they're patently trying to take this game in a design sense.

The Warhound is as bad as i thought, mechanical marauder...at least give it anti air so it can pretend its not there just because Dustin B. hates tanks. Soo bad...

slow and precise wont ever work in sc2, not when you have warp in/larva inject/and mass medicvacs dropping everywhere. The mech showcased here is probably the only way to get a mech into sc2 and have it as a legitimate viable strategy that could be done every game.

Anyway, my impressions

Not bad, not bad at all. I saw a few Op looking things, but it got countered by other Op things. For e.g I was like there is no way protoss can hold that first push, and then mothership core helps fend it off. Another example seeing all those entombs, i was like wow terran must be fucked here, and then it balances out because mech is cost efficient . Basically its OP countering OP, which is how brood war was balanced in my opinion.


Things i find should be looked at
-widow mine= seems like its true role is the same as the Turret, trying to trap anything on the field seems to risky/pointless.
-for protoss, i think the Carrier should stay in , The carrier would definately get used against mass mech. There is no reason why both the tempest and the carrier cant co-exist together in the same game.

-I am little bit worried that vikings are the only viable AA mech has.





Overall, i kinda like the warhounds.. People are really fast to say playing terran in wings of liberity is like playing against the clock. And then when they give us a deathball like army, people are complaining.

If i was blizzard, just look at the numbers of zerg and protoss players on the ladder. i would not be surprised if 80% of the people on team liquid play zerg and protoss. Terran could do with an a-movey unit so i do not mind the warhound at all.

Overall , not to impressed at the battlereport, but not disppointed either. BTW so many rocks lol!

you dont seem to understand the point so ill try again. there are already enough 1a units in the game that have ruined sc2. terran mech, the epitome of strategic placement, decision making, and map control has now become as 1a as marines and marauders. this is why people are not happy.
