If I understand the explanation there correctly, this could be adding to the map loading times, but shouldn't be slowing down the game. The additional texture files required are probably adding to the program's RAM footprint, though, so maybe memory problems are part of the problem people are having?
The fix is to set "alternateLowTextures=0" in variables.txt, which restores the old low texture setting.
Also, I'll split that into a separate issue from the general performance problems, because it's clearly bugging a lot of people (like me) who like the old low graphic settings.
Edit: Ninjaed in my own thread, how humiliating .

13. You can't ping the minimap anymore with alt+left click
There's a hotkey called Quick Ping, you can set it to alt. It still requires alt+left click to function which makes it act the same way it did before. It will unbind the default show/hide health bars, but you can rebind that key to alt+ctrl or something else. Doesn't really affect you if you have health bars on all the time anyways.

Actually point 5) was in all versions for me true. Don´t know why people complain now about it. It was always as it is now.

Didn't larvae move out of the way last time when you were trying to throw down a hatch? They just stay idle at the same spot in the new patch.

The problem with larvae is indeed something new.
When I was doing post-update optimization it required me to free up around 11GB - which is more or less the size of the SC2 directory itself in my case.
|
Oh, and then there's multiple people saying that their league is showing as one above what they really are (Masters instead of Diamond, for instance).

Sort of a bug I guess, but SC2 loader auto patched my game to a French version when I was playing an English version. It's kind of annoying, now I have to reinstall everything

Has anyone else had this bug? Confirmed. My EU client crashes when clicking the 'Friends' button on Leagues & Ladders page. I have max amount of friends on my EU account. My US client does not crash, but I only have ~20 people on my friends list there.
One annoying feature/bug is that it seems you cannot launch selected replay anymore from desktop even if the file associations are ok. You have to find the correct replay with with the game's own replay browser and launch it from there.
Another bug is that when viewing replays from older patches the game ignores fps limits set in the variables.txt.

Remember quite a few games where i was not very amused. And for my expirience, no, they never walked away. Just red pixel on the ground saying you can´t build here.

16 is just your SC resolution not matching your computer resolution (for me) mine reset to like 1366x768 or something and i play on 1600x900

Blizzard claims that you can change your language there back to English and it will work without any problems:

Lots of people have said it worked for them. I'm in a similar situation (English client in Germany), but my client stayed in English for whatever reason, so I haven't tested the fix myself.
