i like how terrans who aren't even close to pro level blame their race for losing instead of their apparent lack of skill.

I've always thought that scans were the most powerful thing Terran had. Mules are better than normal workers, but not by nearly the wtfhax amount a lot of my non-terran bretheren say. The value of a scan - or even of just having a scan available in case you happen to need it - starts high and continually climbs as the game progresses.

No, scans are not free, and while I'd like to see a smaller radius on them, I'm fine with Terran having access to it.

But yes, Obs are horrendous. I personally don't make them unless there are cloaked units, in favor of adding Phoenixes which cost only 25 more gas and can actually scout. Observers generally can't acutally do their job if the opponent is paying attention, which is just embarassing. Maybe the build time decrease will make creating them less cringe-worthy, but I'm not convinced. They are just not worth 75 gas. Which should be no surprise; the Zerg equivalent (which is less prone to being picked off, and is fast enough to actually get the desired data in time for it to be relevant) was deemed to be worth only 50 gas and no supply, without tying up any production facilities for even a second.

This is kind of underwhelming, but I guess they're focusing more on balancing HoTS than WoL now anyways.

Observers are godly, there's 0 reason to encourage more 1 robo play. P should have to choose between Immortal/Colossus/Observer and/or build more robos.
Overlord change. That's fine. Just makes it a little easier to scout when saccing in early game.
Queen change. Stupid. Why? It's not necessary. It just seems like another Blizzard random range buff because they couldn't think of anything better.

So... I just realized the biggest change from the overlord speed buff.

Early aggression in ZvZ is dead

Builds like a 14 pool gasless expand w/ extra queens spanishiwa style having perfect scouting will shit on early aggression builds so hard as to make them essentially suicide. Overlords will be in place to spot lings moving out and be able to scout deeper into your opponents base and still get away from off creep queens.

1 base builds, and the baneling for the most part are dead for ZvZ.

Laugh out loud, I'll believe it when I see it. Thats a pretty big claim.
We have multiple brackets generated in advance. Relax . (Kennigit) I just simply do not understand how it can be the time to play can be 22nd at 9:30 pm PST / midnight the 23rd at the same time. (GGzerg)

Finally someone that knows the game. Having the ability to have a infinitely cloaked unit is nice trust me or just ask Ghosts or banshee's. If I played as toss I would have 4. 1 with my army 1 with their army and 2 protecting drop areas. and stop whining that they cost a little bit of gas. Id rather have a infinitely cloaked detecting unit instead of a raven which is pretty useless and costs 100 min 200 gas.

People reading these changes intentionally in wrong way, I guess. Both overlord speed and obs buff are to help with scouting. They aim the insane ability of terran to hide anything he wants easily at the start of the game.

It is definitely not going to affect banshee openings simply because they depend on protoss not having robo. If robo is there banshee opening is dead anyway.

It will help a little to figure out whether a scv all in coming or not. It is 10 seconds; believe nothing changes in PvT.

In ZvT, now terran cannot hide many things. IMHO, three fast CCs will be hard to hold now. Sending two overlords from opposite sides of a terran base probably will reveal what they are doing at a cost of 200.

It's nowhere near dead but it's certainly weaker, yes. I can't wait.

Wait obs are bad now? Dafuq.

You appear assume that their 'job' is to scout the opponent's base and nothing more, I'd vehemently disagree. In BW, where by the way methods of detection were largely identical to SC2, people just made observers and placed them around the map. Imagine if, for example, today in GSL + Show Spoiler +
Parting vs MVP Metropolis, if Parting just sits an obs in the air between his base and MVP's he does not die to that doom drop. And if MVP somehow knows there's an obs there he has to make a viking and then scan to kill it.

Not worth 75 gas? I'd pay 100.

If someone already mentioned this sorry, but are they gonna have to change the Queen's attack animation? From 3 to 5 is gonna take some really long arms.
