I would love for Liquid to pick up Taeja, they could really use another Terran and Taeja is a beast. GanZi is also good, but if he has to join the army in the near future he wouldn't be a good pick. For all the people complaining about more and more Koreans joining foreign teams. Getting payed a salary and having the opportunity to participate in foreign events... How can you not understand why those players choose to join foreign teams? This trend will only stop if Korean teams offer their players similar conditions or the big bw teams get involved in the sc2 scene. In that case, that is not that unlikely in my opinion, the current Korean sc2 teams will have a hard time to keep their best players anyway.

Liquid does need a terran player who can show good results.

The korean teams will keep their best players because they can afford to pay the top tier of players. Its the players who are good but not the best in their teams that will decide to move to foreign teams. Can't blame them though, everyone needs a career.

I can see Ryung going eventually too, he is kind of the "forgotten son" player and for him to stay with the results he has gotten so far past this draft would surprise me. It looks like he needs a different coach or something along those lines.
|
Ganzi probably knows he won't be on slayers during military service, and would like to experience the hype. I think he's a really smart guy from all of his interviews.
Taeja... just trying to capitalize on foreign interest in him. i hate to say it, but, the market is much dryer than it was some months ago.

really is a simply solution for Korean teams to keep players, actually pay them. Korean sc2 players make next to nothing and only a % of their winnings, any kid/young adult is gonna look elsewhere if there is money to be made and still be able to train in Korea.
Unfortunately the only way I see this happening is if BW dies in Korea, don't see that happening.

Wow, Ganzi someone sign this guy :p
|
Mil has the free space, can't see any NA teams having the budget to sign any of these guys - though it would be awesome. Looking forward to watching these players no matter where they go.
|
I never thought I see the day that SlayerS would have a normal amount of terrans. Whoever they pick up in the draft has some really large shoes to fill. It's going to be hard to replace the amount of talent and skill that Ganzi and Taeja had...
Talent retention for Korean teams is fast becoming an issue. If even the players on SlayerS is having issues with this, I can imagine how paranoid other teams are about their players.

I wonder how influential having the EG players at the SlayerS house was in this decision. I would say it is a fair wager to state that this alliance helped broaden the perspective of the comparitively reclusive Korean players to the reality of the global stage. This is nothing but good news for the talented young individuals that wish to experience the world.
What will happen once all of Korea is mined out? In my opinion, GSL is cannibalizing its source of progamers by keeping the competition so bottlenecked. Hardly anyone can get paid over there for their SC2 talent unless they are a top dog.
Honor and its humble pursuit by the GSL participants and hopefuls seems to be losing out to the depth and weight that the rest of the world has to offer. These are my obsverations, and nothing more.

Millenium have always been pretty tight with money spending when it comes to flying players across the globe. Even Stephano who realistically has a very good chance of winning back the cost of flights at any foreign tournament is used sort of sparingly.
EG, Fnatic, Liquid or Complexity seem like the obvious places for both players.

I expect EG to sign one of them at least. The other might join one of the teams that are lacking a Korean powerhouse like Mouz or Dignitas.

I'm calling it now.
Liquid'Taeja and eSahara.GanZi

I don't know about that I think the truth is that there are players who win tournies and bring sponsors in Korea and those who don't. The competition is so high that only some of the best players actually get sponsers . But outside of Korea the players like Ganzi and Taeja would make a huge splash and actually obtain sponsers for themselves and their new teams.

If he does, he shall henceforth be known as the "fallen son".

Probably making room for new, different race, players.

Why is it every time a Korean leaves a team, people think the player will either be signed by EG or Liquid?

Because they are the biggest/most popular foreign teams?
