All the emotions that Orb mentions are something everyone experience to some extent. Humans have always had emotions, trust me on this one. However, unless they are clinically severe, where chemical reactions caused by a disease or mutation occur, they are never a reasonable excuse/justification for any actions. In both life and work, it is each persons responsibility to manage and balance their emotions and actions, the resulting performance defines many aspects of the individual.
I personally find this apology adequate, however I do hope that, not just Orb, but people in general stop utilizing "emotion" as a reason for actions. While making such statements doesn't indicate they feel no responsibility for their actions, it's an attitude that, to some extent, legitimizes "emotion" as an excuse.

always forgiven but never forgotten. =) we all have our flaws, pretty sure yours is miniscule compared to many of ours >.>, and trust me i'm doing my best to improve and its hard as .... =) well i'm trying.

orb, regardless of the outcome of this incident, I still have respect for you as a caster. I wish you all the best as you move forward from this event and do hope to see you back casting in the future, as I do greatly enjoy your analysis.
Your apology seems heartfelt to me, and that means a lot. I hope your actions on your stream in the future mirror your words today. Best of luck.

Should have just admitted it was you and not lie. The moment you lie about something like that to your boss = gg no re.
|
This witch-hunt was pathetic, just redditors seeking drama. I was a fan before and I continue to be a fan now, but I can not say the same for EG.
|
You've made mistakes, both in the past and in recent times. However, it makes no sense to stand still and let it bear you down.
If your intentions are true, and your desire to change is strong enough, I cannot do anything but commend you for it. Change is hard, and change can take long. Do your best, Orb, and the community will undoubtedly regain it's confidence in you.
And my apologies, as a fan, for what you've had to go through. Even though what you did was wrong, you probably went through hell the last few days. I cannot imagine what it must've been like for both you and EG to have the sponsors calling both of you in panic. No one is deserving of this, and it shames me that a community I am part of has caused this pain without thinking it through.
Best of luck, Orb.

never was the phrase "killing esports" better placed. what is wrong with you? "plz drop the support for XY because i disagree!" imagine everyone would act like you in any situation. then there would be no sponsors in esports. why would they support esports if theyll get 100000 emails on a day from people who considers to drop support for X for doing Y. are you contacting them for every situation handled good aswell? ill bet all my money you dont. you should consider to leave esports. Right... And I suppose ppl contacting sponsors in order to have casters fired is pushing esports forward! Fuck em, they are going to kill it anyways I am going to take jabs when teams/companies makes jack ass moves.... I have a feeling due to Orbs lying (lots of it) is why he was fired more so then anything else. He flat out lied multiple times instead of just saying it was him, so honestly this punishment does serve him considering he lied to his employers (by saying he didn't do it and that it was a friend). If you lie to your employers about something you did, but said someone else did it you will get fired. [b] i dont get why he asnt edited in something about the lieing, i understand if he saw this realised how much shit he could be in with the whole EG deal and paniced trying to bury it before it got big, but now that all the damage has been done and he still ahsnt fessed it makes me very suspicious about him (Emphasis mine)
I'd say becuase EG themselves did not use the dishonesty as the reason for the termination. Orb tried to cover his ass in a hairy situation, that's human nature. It takes a LOT for someone to step up and admit they were wrong off the bat. Do we hate President Clintion because he lied about the oval office intern special? No. Do people focus on the fact he lied or that he got some in the oval office when they discuss the situation now?
Basically I feel the lieing part would be a better reason then the one that was presented to the community, but it sounds better on a PR stand to say "EG does not tolerate racism" instead of "EG does not like being lied to."
|
He should not have lied as a first response to the accusations. Pretending that it wasn't him but someone he shared his account with was the cowards way of trying to solve this situation.
|
Tbh I think its forgivable. I think people will move on.

She was completely trolled and teased by InControl. now im really confused, so she comes on a talk show thats known for tons of trolling and joking around (ya they talk about whats happening and can be serious but theres always alot of joking around especially from inctonrol) and then she has such thin skin that she actually cant help what is (i assume) good natured teasing from incontrol? i mean isnt that why the show is so late at night so tehy can do stuff like this? and why it gets taht mature warning?
if you watched the episode you would see that it was not good natured and she was not coming on the show expecting to be ridiculed. Aside from whatever personal opinion you have about porn stars or the atmospher on SOTG, she did not deserve to be treated the way she was.

Everyone deserves another chance. Hope to see you out there again Orb.

oh, i found it. orb was defeatured because he was saying "fuck you you fucking nigger maphacker." in response, he said "Sorry guys, I guess I don't see this the same as you guys do which is why I'm no longer featured, but there's a difference in my mind between saying something like that on the forums in which you are speaking to peers and equals as opposed to saying that to a hacker, the lowliest scum on the entire internet." because calling people "nigger" online is okay (as long as they hack), but not on the forums. so, now he is saying its somehow inappropriate..... hmm, doesnt seem so sincere to me.
i'll give him the benefit of the doubt though. good luck in your future endeavors.

dont worry orb, people just like to bitch for the sake of attention. thanks to reddit once again for being lame only to get the drama ball going and being dumb

You lied even though the evidence against you was overwhelming. I would've respected you if you had only owned up to it and apologized in the first place, but now is way too late. EG did the right thing, I don't feel any sympathy for you.
Use this opportunity and learn from it, good character and dignity is something we all should strive for. Good luck

I doubt it was tons of people. I mean, going to that length in general is just ridiculous.. it takes an extremely hateful individual to do something like that.

Sick apology/statement, but I think you left out the part where you flamed the community and accused them of slandering your good name. Not to mention the way you lashed out (totally out of character I know) at TotalBiscut basically calling him a liar. I find your dishonesty about the matter, which continues to manifest in your apology, much more heinous than dropping the "N-word."
As a human being, I "forgive" you to the extent that I don't have any ill will against you. I hope you are successful in life, but as a figurehead of e-sports I think its time for you, and people like you, to show themselves to the door.
Best wishes in future endeavors.
