^^ I wish people would realize Ghosts are not the problem. It's zerg insisting on making T3 units vs mass ghost, when ghost is an excellent counter to what? T3 units.

Tech switch more zergs, you are the only race of the three who can max out on an entirely different unit composition in the matter of seconds. 3-3 ling/bling vs massghost, m&m and a couple of tanks? It's not even close.

Interested to see what pro Terrans do vs lategame Zerg now. With the exception of MVP there's very few who really seem to dominate with lategame ghostplay, most seem to only break even. Phoenix range buff is cool, love seeing phoenix play and this will make skytoss more frequent at least vZ.

I agree. Ghosts will still be far from useless. EMP is still very important, despite the nerf it got. Snipe will still be vital, despite the nerf it's getting now too.

Give me 1 reason to make ghosts instead of vikings against BL now.
The only reason to make ghosts in TvZ now is EMP for infestors. And it will be 2 or 4 max.

300/200 fleet beacon plus whatever the phoenix upgrade costs is too damn high for this to be an efective response to mutas.

The Terran entitlement feeling ITT is disgusting. Sorry you can't just mass a single unit anymore and win every non-mirror matchup.


This is probably the best patch to date. I think my preferred nerf of Snipe would have been to keep the damage, but install a cooldown (no more than 5s) so you can't spam it like you can now. But this way was a close second. The range upgrade for Phoenixes should be an interesting one. I don't like that it makes phoenix micro absurdly easy now vs mutas, but we'll see. I'm not really sure about the MULE thing, but again, I guess we'll see. I'm not necessarily for the complete removal of gold bases because I love the concept, but it was just executed so poorly that it looks awful.

The phoenix upgrade is smart: it means there is still a timing window for a small group of mutas to do exactly what zerg wants: buy map control, do some harass, and allow some expansions, but it means that a protoss responding with phoenix won't be doomed to let the muta ball snowball out of control, by making the theoretical micro actually managable.

We might see phoenix in PvT again too.

Nice! This really addresses many of the concerns that people have regarding balance. Although, this really hurts to see as a terran player =/

I don't really know what to do vs BLs now, although I didn't really know anyway. I AM SO HAPPY ABOUT THE MULE CHANGE. I really hope it'll stop some of the bitching I hear, and it won't affect me at all, since I can't macro to the MULEs@gold level.

Actually, now that I think about it, I don't really know what role snipe will take now. Are infestors psionic? Ooooh, HTs are pisonic, I think. Hm. Maybe, I don't know how I feel about this change. I guess ghosts are really taking a beating in regards to balance.
