Why would he? he was translating an article from a korean website so the foreign community could see whats going on in the korean world, hes not running around looking for stories to write up himself, hes just letting us non-korean speakers get a bit involved in korean pro gaming news.

I doubt it.
It already is.

Meaning that it was already public information and Milkis was simply informing us of information that was already out there. He didn't "release" anything. They relayed it and linked his source material. If someone is prone to drawing conclusions from one side of the story, they've no one to blame but themselves.

SC2 will live on EG will live on and continue being one of the biggest Foreign teams, no matter what you think about them. It was a simple communication mistake, since PuMa wanted to talk to his coach first which if u listened, was PuMa's idea.
What does any of this have to do with you being wrong about who and what Milkis does?

I obv. don't have a problem at all, what I have a problem with is people assuming EG is a bunch of liars just cause there trying to say Milkis, came into contact with them before anything was released which is BS. They werent contacted until the news had been broken.

I didnt't say milkis was wrong in the first place....

More information is out from Coach Lee.
Turns out that Puma was indeed not being payed and had no contract and that he wasn't the first TSL player approached. Also a fair bit of grim shit about the state of SC2 scene in Korea, after reading that more then ever I'm glad that Puma is going to get a shot in the western scene rather then being restricted to Code A qualifer after code a qualifer.

Well, good. We can settle the debate right here. Since Milkis is apparently EG's translator, it's obviously his fault.

Milkis is not the only Korean translator on TL nor is he the only person that regularly reads places like PlayXP. He posted the translation so that the translation would be accurate, instead of having someone post a Google Translation or a double translation from a Chinese site.
Scoots then tweeted about ESPORTS journalism, Milkis replied asking for EG's comment, Scoots said his tweet wasn't concerning Milkis, and then Milkis replied with the tweet with another about waiting for EG's response.
It's not as if EG was just late to the party, since they still haven't shown up. They still have not released an official statement, besides Alex's barrage on WoC. EG has their own website and news page. They have their own writers. Still, zero statement.

Ok so if your walking down the street and someone punches you in the face and you push him on the ground to get away from him, and a cop just happens to see you do this and you get arrested cause the cop will only listen to the story of the other guy....now is that fair?
|
Once again, they never even had a chance to release a statement!
Quit trying to make this look like some evil empire, it was a simple miscomunication problem, they are only human. Honestly if Koreans are that worked up over stuff like this they should have simply protected there players better.

Bad analogy because you would be able to tell your story right then and there. EG has had plenty of opportunity to tell their side of the story, but they simply have decided not to do so. The reason we only have information from the Korean side of things is because they are the only ones who have released information, interviews, and statements (besides this WoC, which didn't really seem like a statement as much as a freeform speech/debate/ramble).

Milkis isn't a cop. He translates.

How is your analogy relevant? If you kept your mouth shut and don't say anything because you feel that the cop should "know better", then yes, it's your fault. If EG wishes to get their side of the story across then they should make an official statement - not tweet about irresponsible journalism or not troll with a tweet about a tweet.
At the very least, EG can say that they will release an official statement soon.

Dude, we've addressed this numerous times within the last 15 pages. Seriously.
I don't expect you to read all 318 pages, but do us a favor and actually read a few pages back so you know where the conversation has been and get the up-to-date points.
-_-
Some of you need to learn the difference between a journalist and a translator. I'll take it one step further, TL isn't your regular news site either, so don't treat it as such.

I don't understand why this is even an issue. Of course teams are going to approach players, there is no contract between EG and TSL. There is a contract between the player and the team. This means that EG has no business going to the team or coach for their input to make a competing offer. It is up to the damn player, wow Koreans are bitching hardcore about something that seems really obvious.

Dude, the story was released the night this all happened....I mean PuMa isnt even sign yet so they really cant even make a statement cause he is not even part of there team yet.

Then that's the statement you make. Seriously, do you ever read the news? Nothing here is out of the ordinary when it comes to breaking news in the public domain. EG just has incredibly poor PR.
