Its been a road full of ups and downs, as far as I know (from watching LO3) it was in a decline until the release of SC2 (I think the fighting scene was growing though). A successful business is always growing, otherwise they are not successful (it's why coca cola still airs ads despite being huge). If Esports does not eventually grow to be mainstream, then that means that it is declining.

Then don't watch MY terrible production and wait for the fucking text recap. Problem fucking solved. Mr Wheat, don't listen to assholes like thsi who have no clue what is going on, and just want something to throw rotten tomatoes at. I can't beleive TSL is at all surprised that their TOP PLAYER WHO WAS NOT BEING PAID A SALARY left their team when he was offered one. Uh... no shit? Pay your fucking players and write out a contract if you don't want this to happen. People saying that house + food is a salary... yeah a B teamers salary lol ^motherfucking this Most people on TL are so retarded it actually makes me angry now. Everyone saw in the NASL how fucking good Puma is. I think on SoTG or another show or something artosis said before NASL how fucking good puma has been for so fucking long. Then a team that is already losing good players isn't going to pay their players?!! Like wtf, how are EG the "bad" guys in this. In my eyes it's more like TSL not paying a talented player like Puma and EG is like "oh come join us we would like to pay you decent money". Perhaps is TSL taking E-sports not as serious as EG. Once again, another misinformed user. TSL pays fucking salaries god and you make fun of others for being misinformed
I wasnt making fun of other being misinformed, I was complaining about others being retarded. Also that doesnt take anything away from my argument, good job finding one thing that wasnt correct in my post, I fixed it, my argument still stands and since you read my post and only replied about the salary issue it goes to show you got no argument.

Real world is rotten to the core. I don't want esports to become like that.
1. Esports becomes like real world business 2. Esports dies
pick one
3. Esports does not become mainstream
And thus we embark on the slow painful road to 2.
Sorry but if ANYTHING this is actually making esports more popular. Even though I hate to admit it but drama and excitement is what makes alot of sports in general popular.
More people have the interests of where players are going and interested in the players outside of SC2 gives people more to observe and obsesse over.

This is so awesome for team EG. The ability to practice with Puma alone is going to raise everyone's level so much...not to mention having a new ace.

A lot of people didn't want a KESPA in SC2, but they've tried that and this shows that they need at least some sort of KESPA to stop things from happening. I hope that this is the only time something like this happens, but I wouldn't be shocked if EG tries to talk to someone like DongRaeGu when he comes to MLG. Hopefully the Korean teams don't see EG as every foreigner team in the world and aren't afraid to send their players until this new contract/SC2 Korea organization is created.
Could be a blessing in disguise in a way. Hopefully that is the case as I would hate to see a big name player snatched up in the near future. Good thing it is only PuMa.

Ofc not. Esport is still a niche. It is not because 1 company within this niche decides to do something unethical it suddenly becomes a popular sport amongst the masses...

Actually nobody can steal Idra from EG cause Evil Genius's actually contract there players, and I'm more then sure that it states in there contract that they can't join another team.

coca cola grows by acquiring other businesses now. a few million on advertising doesn't really affect their growth anymore, it just maintains their image in first world countries.
but that's off topic. esports isn't a single corporation. it's an entire market. NBA ratings might be down, but that doesn't mean basketball is dying. it's still growing in europe and china. same thing with esports. just because the FPS scene was dying doesn't mean esports as a whole was declining.

I'm soory, I know this guy is really well liked and everything, but that is just, at best naive and, at worst, incredibly stupid. E-sports is not that tiny little amateur outfit it was years ago, there's now serious money involved and big businesses getting into it and the teams involved need to grow up and start acting less like typical internet clans and more like professional sports teams.
I feel for the guy in some ways because TSL has lost so many players recently and may not be around for all that long if they can't stop the bleeding, but if you're not having your players tied to some sort of deal to at least get compensation if they transfer to another team, you don't have grounds to complain when they up sticks and leave if they get a better offer from somewhere else.
It would be great if all sports could operate on trust and a gentlemens agreement, but as soon as money is involved that is no longer the case and SC2 teams need to get up to speed on this pronto or this won't be the last time there's such an incident. Yeah bro, Esports just became professional when SC2 was released. /sarcasm I never said, nor intoned that, try understanding what I'm saying rather than jumping onto one line and taking it out of context.

I'm just staying that at least discussing clearly and maybe finding a way to compensate for his departure would have avoided all the Drama. And that if TSL was to go to (at least some) courts, they could very well requalitfy their relation with Puma as a classical e-sport contract... ( 1 or 2 year duration, etc...) Nothing more.
My point is that there was a contract between the parties and it was broken. What both parties decide to do after is something else.
