I didn't know what I was going to do tonight on WoC (was actually gonna bring miniWHEAT on) then I woke up to this. Perfect timing if you ask me.
You're all smart about this stuff and you know it haha. But also, what's good for you and omg.tv, is good for scoots, and EG...and so the circle of life lives on . Should be a fun show that is for sure.

Mr Wheat, don't listen to assholes like thsi who have no clue what is going on, and just want something to throw rotten tomatoes at. I can't beleive TSL is at all surprised that their TOP PLAYER WHO WAS NOT BEING PAID A SALARY left their team when he was offered one. Uh... no shit? Pay your fucking players and write out a contract if you don't want this to happen. People saying that house + food is a salary... yeah a B teamers salary lol
^motherfucking this
Most people on TL are so retarded it actually makes me angry now. Everyone saw in the NASL how fucking good Puma is. I think on SoTG or another show or something artosis said before NASL how fucking good puma has been for so fucking long. Then a team that is already losing good players isn't going to pay their players decently?!!
Like wtf, how are EG the "bad" guys in this. In my eyes it's more like TSL not paying a talented player like Puma and EG is like "oh come join us we would like to pay you decent money".
Perhaps is TSL taking E-sports not as serious as EG.

"It's not just TSL, but most Starcraft II teams right now run on trust and faith instead of contracts."
I'm soory, I know this guy is really well liked and everything, but that is just, at best naive and, at worst, incredibly stupid. E-sports is not that tiny little amateur outfit it was years ago, there's now serious money involved and big businesses getting into it and the teams involved need to grow up and start acting less like typical internet clans and more like professional sports teams.
I feel for the guy in some ways because TSL has lost so many players recently and may not be around for all that long if they can't stop the bleeding, but if you're not having your players tied to some sort of deal to at least get compensation if they transfer to another team, you don't have grounds to complain when they up sticks and leave if they get a better offer from somewhere else.
It would be great if all sports could operate on trust and a gentlemens agreement, but as soon as money is involved that is no longer the case and SC2 teams need to get up to speed on this pronto or this won't be the last time there's such an incident.

It seems to me that you take negative feedback in any way far too personally Wheat. Chill out; don't respond etc. For the 5 people that bag your show without any constructive feedback, there are tons who are fine with it that don't say boo.
I can understand the sentiment however that EG have used this to promote the 'platform' they support (your shows). There is nothing wrong with EG doing that however; in fact it is the logical place to explain their position. In saying that, I feel that you need to accept that the connection of your shows to EG may inadvertently lead people to think of them (occasionally or consistently) as EG's productions, rather than your own.
As we all know, nerd chills are fine. Nerd rage isn't.

I think TSL did respect Puma's decision, but afaik Puma came to the manager one day, said he'd be leaving, and left. There was nothing TSL could do but "release" him.

well at least now they know about the importance of contracts

I think EG's move sucks and EG's image has a team is becoming less and less glamorous, but I love the Wheat's productions ... Am I contradicting myself ?

As other people have already said. Welcome to business, and welcome to the real world. No contract, too bad. I don't feel bad for TSL at all, and EG has every right to do whatever is legally possible to better their team.
Don't want to loose players, sign a contract. Otherwise they are a free agent. Look at real sports. TSL needs to stop QQ and learn the business.

Probably another dose of lying like the ITG/SOTG situation; I don't believe much of what EG says anymore, especially when it comes out of SirScoots' mouth. EG responds by advertising a show. lol Only I was the one advertising it and I'm not EG. I'm simply trying to use the networking I have to try to bring both sides to the table for a discussion. I hope people will realize (and I spoke intensely about this with Slasher) that I was NOT going to do the show if I could not present both sides (after a few recent happenings this seems to be the only way to be fair to all parties). Both Alex and Milkis agreed to discuss what they knew, etc.
I wish everyone had this maturity level. Great job Wheat! The way things should be done.

Well as far as I recall, TSL was paying Tester and FD a salary, and those two left when their contracts expired ( I assume here, but there were no controversies around that ) I heard no call for loyalty or respect whatsoever. So why is this such a big deal with Puma? Not enough info to make a judgement call imo. But I suppose it is always fun when we argue on the internet isn't it? ^^

EG supporting Esport by forcing other teams to care for theire players and pay them.
and the community response is what? YOUR KILLING ESPORT, YOU MEAN BUSNISS GUYZZZZ!!

With there no written contract, it's right in the sense of business, but still pretty morally wrong and makes EG look bad to the Korean teams and players. The only good thing (or maybe bad for others) is that we might get a SC2 version of KESPA with everyone getting paid on a contract, bigger sponsors helping teams, and players not being able to just get poached. I feel bad for Coach Lee and TSL since they basically sheltered and fed the guy for the past year, and he just turned his back on them, but EG did what they had to do. A lot of Korean players have said that this move was disgusting and a lot of Korean fans as well, so they probably lost a respect in Korea, but if they don't care about that, then good for the.
I really hope Puma doesn't regress, though. I think it'll be hard/difficult to stay in Korea after this shitstorm, so I expect he'll move into the EG house. When/if this happens, hopefully for him he knows what he is getting into. Unlike FXO that had Moonan/Slog, I believe no EG member knows any Korean. It's going to be a tough, hard road head for Puma.
