He is being a drama queen in a sense. His whole argument is based around respect instead of real contractual obligations. His original statement makes it seem as if Puma was a contracted player, which we later found out he isn't. Now he is making claims that EG has stated that Puma approached them and that they are lying. When in fact, EG has not said a thing about this issue other then the fact that machine is playing DoW.
This is how I read this: "Why are you being a drama queen for losing your girlfriend. Your girl friend doesn't have to respect you, even though you help build her confidence. Its not like you put a ring on it. Sorry bro, your girl hit on me first. Lets face it, I have money, you don't, imma take her around the world (wink)" - EG to TSL
So, TSL = Dumped, Puma = Whore, EG = Rich Play Boy

I you have a problem distinguishing between business situations and dealing with girl friends, then that's on you. But in this fantasy land of yours I guess Puma would be more of a gold digger, since he has standards.

TSL just decide that it would be too much of a problem doing that, yet it is true. There was an actual contract between the team and Puma, a moral contract. And it is plain bad to break it this way.

We're not restating the arguments, but in short, there was no contract that would provide TSL with any relief (due to the fact that an oral contract needed a definite trigger or time duration, of which there seems to be none). Go read up earlier on the thread for the analysis.
So no there was not an actual contract, either verbal or written.

I can't beleive TSL is at all surprised that their TOP PLAYER WHO WAS NOT BEING PAID A SALARY left their team when he was offered one.
Uh... no shit? Pay your fucking players and write out a contract if you don't want this to happen.

Exactly! Players shouldn't be locked into their team due to sentiment and a feeling of loyalty. Sentiment doesn't put food on the table. If moving to a different team is what the player thinks is best for his career than it shouldn't be an issue.

This was already covered in the thread. Coach Lee said himself that there was no contract. If we consider that to just mean no written contract, and that there was some kind of informal oral contract, there certainly wasn't an end date to it. It would just be an agreement that could be interrupted at any time. "We will provide you food and lodging, in return you will play for us" Puma roughly said "I no longer wish to play for you, I do not need you to provide me food and lodging" well that's it, contract terminated.

It never works out like that.
If your partner is cheating on you the natural reaction is kick the fuck out of the other guy.... It doesn't make sense but that is what happens.

Hm, thanks to TSL coach for explaining his stance. If he is telling the truth, then it seems that the entire situation has been explained.
EG contacted Puma after he won the NASL, and directly gave him an offer to join EG. Puma was not under a contract and accepted the offer. TSL is not happy with this because they were not contacted about the offer and EG bypassed talks with administration, etc. It's perfectly legal, and while TSL is not happy about it, they couldn't really do anything about it, either. They actually could have tried to keep Puma (i.e. argue), but ended up acquiescing with Puma's wishes.

Some of the comments in this thread are out of hand, even by current-day TL standards. Being able to see things from the TSL coach's perspective and being upset for him? Understandable. Actually being in his position and being upset? Understandable. Mindlessly bashing the organizations, the players, or Wheat (who is a fucking neutral party in all of this) is beyond ridiculous.
EG made a move to recruit Puma that overstepped a moral boundary. If they had approached TSL, would the result differ? Probably not. That said, it would still have been the polite thing to do. Use of the proper utensils at dinner doesn't effect anyone's dining experience, but there is still a "proper etiquette" which is just considered more polite to follow. This thread is the SC2 equivalent of a whole bunch of people flipping their tables over in outrage because somebody seasoned their food before tasting it.
Discussion is fine. It's the lifeblood of a forum. The tone of this thread is way too hostile for something this minor. I hate to be the guy trying to tells mods what to do, but this really needs to be closed because this is just out of control.

What was ruined?
Puma is making more money, gets to participate in more foreign events, and Korea learned to actually pay their players and make contracts.
