Do you not see the huge problem with this? How do you prove that something was done "for the sole purpose of sexual harassment"? How do you prove that someone hasn't done anything to deserve it? + Show Spoiler + You can't, which makes it inconsistent, and laws/rules cannot be inconsistent

It seems like the line being voiced by Slayers fans is different from that being said on online forums. Whodda thunk. Well, it's a question of the credibility of both sources. As far as I know, oniontaker is in direct contact with everyone so I have no reason not to trust him. Are there other people in DIRECT contact with everyone involved that are making contradictory statements? Also, I really need to repeat myself here: This isn't as much about getting back at some trolls that said stuff to make her mad as it is pursuing legal action for defamation - which is actually a real crime. You don't just take things that are actual crimes and dismiss them as trolling. You've broken the law and now you might be forced to pay for it if the affected party decides to press charges.

If you do or say something you should take responsibiltiy for it, also on the internet. If the harassment is very extreme they should go to prison and also receive a mental evaluation.

I wasn't aware that photoshopping images constituted sexual harassment, or that freedom of expression could be restricted based on subjects that were "deserving."

DC Starcraft are backing Jessica and distancing themselves from the guys who posted those images and comments. If the Korean 4chan, the online forum where a lot of the abuse was festering, is on her side about it, I think it's fair to say that the Korean-speaking fans understand what's going on... and it is consistent with the facts posted.

The other is "I'm mad, so I'm going to ruin someone else's life." people do stupid stuff everyday cause they are mad, people kill each other everyday cause they are mad at each other. nations go to war cause of being mad at each other and kill each other And every single one of these is a tragedy. Asian cultures have a different perspective on ALOT of things western nations take for granted This is completely irrelevant to whether or not the ability to prosecute for internet posts is a good or bad thing. telling her to ignore people who write about raping and assaulting is stupid and there is something seriously wrong with you And you don't have an argument.

Uh, what? Given the laws in Korea backing Slayers is the only option available to DCInside, regardless of what they actually think about the situation.

The way the laws are written you don't need much proof for action to be taken against you. This seems to be something you and others are failing to grasp here how easy defamation is in south korea.

If you want to sue everyone who defaces people on the internet, expect to see all of humanity in jail. As I said above; Ofcourse sometimes special treatment is warrent... it's shit that we have to treat another human being differently because she was born different, but sometimes we do to remove it. A kind of paradox, what I am saying is; We need more woman in esports to make this problem go away, and to get more woman in esports we HAVE to show special empathy for them because right now it's a fucking hellhole of selfrightouss nerds who most of the time haven o girlfriend and no woman perspective. So yeah, if we treat her with special respect, then yes, it will go away in time when theres 200 girls, then you can start flaming them without anybody giving a shit. Until then I and many others will still defend the fact that it's not easy being a woman in esports. Clarification: I do not agree with people like kellymilkies who when failing as a person of knowledge just shows her body and goes "tihi atleast I can be pretty!" That is not what I want from "female" gamers and anything like that I wholeheartadly hate.

No she doesn't deserve the abuse, of course she shouldn't get abused for trying to play a game. But why people feel that they can justify the abuse is because she doesn't deserve her position, get better at you're job or don't expect a paycheck and adoring fans.

No making them pay fines and jail is a good solution. It keeps them off their computer for awhile so you can have peace of mind without waiting for them to decide.

Law or not, it's actually been consistent and even before she announced that she was going to pursue them. One of the abusers posted a handwritten apology, to which the replies were along the lines of scorn at the fact that he was an idiot for doing it in the first place. --- As for those criticising the decision to recruit her into the team, do all professional teams hire the best players in their prime? As far as I know, most top teams have academies that scout anyone with that flare to do well and help guide them to realise their potential. Wasn't this the dream that all fanboys had? That despite you're in Gold, you actually had the inherent ability... and it was noticed by important people... And all you needed was a small bit of training with the gods of the sport to be able to join the top flight?
