EPTThe announcement of accepting the first female Starcraft 2 progamer -Slayers_Eve- into the Slayers Team is causing a great upheaval in Korea.
Slayers_Jessica,who is the manager of Slayers Team, saw countless flaming and insulting posts (ranging from verbally abusing her sexually to her being only a gold league) and got mad.
She has declared a ‘clean up’ period against all flamers and insulters and has threatened to take them to the police.
Most of the insulting posts come from ‘Starcraft2 Gallery’ in DCinside. DCinside is a korean website equivalent of 4chan. Like 4chan, there are countless barely regulated image boards in DCinside where users are free to post whatever they want.Starcraft 2 Gallery is one of those image boards.
. In Korea, it is possible to take someone to the police for what they had said in the Internet. While this action is widely supported by many Starcraft2 fans who are tired of extremely bad mannered trolls, there have been some issues raised of Slayers Jessica overreacting.
A twitter user named Haeun_Cielu has been seen on the paperstack that Slayers_Jessica is taking to police as an evidence. What worries me is that this user has been a fan of SlayerS team, and has merely just expressed his constructive criticism on his twitter.

Haeun_Cielu said on his twitter, ‘this incident [of Jessica overreacting] makes me less of a SlayerS fan.’ Slayers_Jessica somehow found that comment and started to aggressively attack him. Suggesting that he is a hypocrite for saying that comment and sending a twit worrying about SlayerS team. Haeun_Cielu obviously got upset at being accused of a hypocrite and immediately retweeted in a polite way (written with all the honorifics). Asking her why she thought so. Slayers Jessica, then blocks him and ignores him. Then, his name is seen on the stacks of paper that Slayers Jessica is sending to the police as evidence.

There was an another incident. A 16 years old girl twited ‘We all know Kim Ga Yeon[SlayerS_Jessica] sucks at English.’[This sentence was written without any honorifics, making it quite rude toned]. While it is quite a rude thing to say, the nature of twiter only lets followers see the twits. However, Slayers_Jessica somehow finds this private chat amongst the 16years old girl and her followers then retweets it for everyone to see and publicly starts another fight with her.

Surprised no one decided to translate this here yet but here goes my attempt.
1. The first section is basically Jessica attacking another girl for mentioning her poor english which the OP mentioned I think. Jessica's tweet to this article says "Oh the reporters must be so busy, copying entire pages of tweets and make a whole page. Writing articles are so easy right? Instead of writing about this, why don't you write about the netizens's behaviour seriously?"
2. This the tweet of one of the Code S casters, one famous for memefying 엔진 소리 during Boxer's match. The tweets go as follows.

1. Is it wise to take Internet matters to the police?
Personally, I think its a great way to punish people who thinks they can hide behind doors of anonymity. However, when abused like this case, many of the fans might turn their back on you.
So I think one must cleverly decide when to ignore those insulting comments and when to take it to the police.
2. Is Jessica over reacting? ( Actively searching twitter and forums for any evidence )
In my opnion, she is. I really like SlayerS team and SlayerS_Jessica. But as of now, I am greatly disappointed. I like what she is doing, but she doesn’t have to go down as low as those trolls (like 16 years old girl case, what she wrote reminds me of those ‘keyboard warriors’ themselves.)
If there are any problems, I shall delete this post..
[Edit: Just to be clear, I am not saying she is overreacting for taking people who has insulted Eve in sexual ways (putting Eve's face on AV) to the police. I am saying she is not being careful enough to exclude justified criticisms, and private discussions which would remain private unless she brings it out to the public. ]
