It's not only been a month girl, you will not last long if you keep acting this way. The more you react, the more they get back at you. you do know she is/was an actress in korea right? a very well-known one at that. her job is dealing with anything and everything related to SlayerS now that she's stopped acting.

No clue what you're talking about

Korea is much smaller, would be funny if people actually got busted for this lol.

ranging from verbally abusing her sexually
and most of you consider this overreacting?
If I walk up to a girl and tell her "I m going to r*** you f****** s***" I can be sure that the police will question me, possibly even arrest me.
But it is ok if i do it on the internet?
grow up...

slayers has been a team that prides itself on scouting potential talent, not whoever is currently doing well. they've got a good track record for this and literally the only reason people are making a fuss about eve is that she is a girl in e-sports. it's fucking disgusting and the people sexually harassing, insulting, and generally being assholes to slayers_jessica and slayers_eve should be ashamed.

In my opinion the internet is free and what someone does there should not be counted for, UNLESS there are sexual harrasments or anything else that can be taken serious (threats, harrasment, "outing").
It is never OK to talk about a girl the way they did over there. She is a girl that is making a name of herself in a manly dominated scene.

Oh right, I forgot that she will handle internet trolls in the best possible way without letting her emotions get the best of her because she used to be a... wait what? How is that relevant at all?

It is overreacting but it shows that she has her players' backs.

a poll is not good in this thread because of the cultural factors involved.

In America, it seems that you can't go more than a week without some segment on television about bullying and the effects of bullying. 60 minutes, dateline, and the local news consistently talk about online bullying leading to depression and then the suicide of some teenager somewhere. Then they end the segment talking about how it's such a tragedy and that action needs to be taken.
If Slayers_Jessica feels that Korean netizens are bullying and harassing her, the team, and Eve, then more power to her. Korea gives her the right to go to the police for a reason and if she wants to use it, then it's her prerogative. There's nothing else she could possibly do in that situation. We all know that a simple plea to the netizens would probably incite more hate.

How is that relevant at all? celebrities would often get harassed by "flamers" in SK.. Like I said, there have been suicides due to excessive harassment over the internet. Say what you will about having thicker skin or whatnot, but internet harassment in Korea is taken pretty seriously

She is totally overreacting, but I'm somewhat sympathetic since she has been a celebrity for some time... people like that get no mercy from the anonymous public.
Similar to when a celeb smashes a paparazzi's camera, it seems like something of an overreaction, but you can sorta understand.
|
She sounds overly defensive but I don't know what it is people are saying.
|
In a western community I would consider it overreacting, but I am not aware of the social and legal standings in Korea.... Perhaps in her culture it is not considered an over-reaction.
|
Based on the examples in the OP, it seems like she's overreacting. While I think her reactions to the sexual and verbal harassment are appropriate, I really hope she's not grouping together the trolls and those who have constructive criticism.

Ya I would have to agree... though I'd be great if she could actually catch some of these guys. At the same time, it's gotta be stressful to constantly have to think about that and deal with it. I wonder how this affects Boxer! D:

Imagine the day where internet anonymity is no more and everyone is held accountable by government surveillance to ensure "good behavior." Troll shall become a rare breed!
On topic, Jessica "overreacted" in part because it's a gender issue. Humans tend to fight/stand by for what they believe in, and this is certainly no different. Perspective w00t.

You'd love to see how they are bashing Eve. most of dcinside guys were saying like..
'omg she is so pretty! I'd like to F*** with Eve.' 'lol they hired a GOLD PUS**, I have a beat on.' 'lololol she is probably very good at it. that's why she joined SlayerS.'
ya overreacting..
