I was talking about it with her, so let me explain her position: she isn't just suing random people, whether fans or antis. When a female player joined the ranks of SlayerS, certain people photoshopped her into indecent and pornographic images out of spite. Others also spammed sexist, derogatory posts about her Jessica. Eve feels humiliated and hurt by the abuse. Jessica is not suing the average anti who is saying bad things about SlayerS: she is taking action against people who are immorally persecuting her and one of her team members. Korean observers see what's happening, but there's some non-Koreans who think that she's just suing random Starcraft fans: this is not true. She's going after the people who are defaming and humiliating one of her team members. Jessica is trying to protect SlayerS Eve, someone who has only just come into the public eye and doesn't deserve the abuse. She is doing what any person would do to protect their family and friends; if someone close to you was getting that kind of abuse for absolutely no reason, wouldn't you do everything in your power to stop it? She wanted to say something to the international fans, but didn't feel confident enough with her English... so I've translated the conversation and put it into my own words. My bad if my recollection isn't that great. She wanted to say to Starcraft fans in general, saying that she was only angry at the people showering abuse at Eve. Eve's just a kid who's only just starting out in her professional career and can't be expected to be stoic after being attacked like that even before she debuts. What has she done wrong? She feels hurt and humiliated. That's just wrong. This kind of shit has to stop and Jessica is nipping it in the bud before things escalate. I certainly hope Eve is handling everything well so far and Jessica helps resolve everything quickly for her, for I would love Eve to be successful just for the implication it would have for future female players if she can do it. I just worry due to these statements about her being a gold player from what I have seen had she been masters or diamond perhaps instead much, if not all of these inflammatory comment may have not occurred.

They go overboard with the cyberbullying because thats the only way to be heard. Think of it what you may, if someone in here never insulted anyone over the internet, regard yourself as a saint. Otherwise, think of the consequences of being sued. Would you have your current job if you were sued 20 times because you insulted some noob in starcraft?

But why people feel that they can justify the abuse is because she doesn't deserve her position, get better at you're job or don't expect a paycheck and adoring fans. Oh boy ! Oh boy ! You better take that mysogyny of yours in the backwards countryside where you were born. Such behavior shouldn't be allowed on TL.

Why not just not go on this 4chanish site altogether if it's that horrible? It doesn't seem like they have any intention or promoting themselves or anything on there or any affiliation etc.

I'm sure everything is fine if they just comment thing like "i don't think she will be able to stay in Slayers", ....... but instead, people posting offensive comments and pictures which put Eve down, is that appropriate? Is jessica sueing those idiots for saying she's a gold league and she does not belong to the Slayers team? or is she sueing for cyber bullying and sexual harrassment?

A kind of paradox, what I am saying is; We need more woman in esports to make this problem go away, and to get more woman in esports we HAVE to show special empathy for them because right now it's a fucking hellhole of selfrightouss nerds who most of the time haven o girlfriend and no woman perspective. So yeah, if we treat her with special respect, then yes, it will go away in time when theres 200 girls, then you can start flaming them without anybody giving a shit. Until then I and many others will still defend the fact that it's not easy being a woman in esports. Clarification: I do not agree with people like kellymilkies who when failing as a person of knowledge just shows her body and goes "tihi atleast I can be pretty!" That is not what I want from "female" gamers and anything like that I wholeheartadly hate. i agree with you except i don't think that someone should get hired for their their looks no matter what sex they are, when their job revolves around skill. thats like signing someone as a QB to a NFL team just because they look good when they've only played football in elementary school.... respect should be given to those that deserve it, not just because they're a girl. also no reason to argue about this anymore, it's either you think they should be treated specially or they shouldn't, just about everyone's opinion

I am not sexist, or at least I try not to be as much as possible, but I believe if you're not properly qualified for something you shouldn't get paid for it. If SlayerS decided to recruit me to play for them, and paid me a salary and I wasn't any good at what I did, why would anyone, anywhere expect to take me seriously. Would you go to your doctor if you saw his most impressive qualification was finishing the second grade? No her being a girl isn't my point, her being crap is my point. I could care less if Eve was a guy and he was in gold league or whatever. If he got flamed on the internet for being bad at sc2 it's his problem, after all, he is getting PAID by SlayerS to represent them. You misunderstand my point entirely, and please if you're any better than the trolls on the internet you shouldn't tell me to GTFO basically.

The announcement of Eve joining the team should have been held off until such a time when she could prove herself. As she is unable to participate in the GSTL, or even attempt qualify for Code A there is very little to go on, and many will obviously jump to the conclusion she was recruited based solely on her attractive features.

However, if the question is "Should the wrongdoers be prosecuted?", I would argue no. As shitty as it is, I believe it's their right to freedom of expression, even if it hurts other people and is totally unjustified. The only exception is if they were harassing her directly; through her e-mail, SlayerS website, etc. If it's just photoshopping images on (a site like) 4chan, well...don't read 4chan? If someone wants to open a website praising Hitler, or talking about murdering babies, or photoshopping my face onto pictures of porn stars, that's their right. I just won't go there. I wish nothing but the best for Eve, but haters will always exist. I hope she can ignore it and show herself to be better than her haters, because actions like this are only going to reinforce the idea that she can't fend for herself.
