While it isn't a 100% get infestors every time yo thing- it is more uncommon to regret having infestors than not having them. I don't know what you mean by fad, it's been gaining popularity ever since 1.3.0 back in March. Ashes you're nuts. But if you're having fun then that's more important than any league placement! infestors are just a great unit. fungal solves alot of problems. i don't believe they're op, the meta game will deal with them in time. I agree it is more common to wish you had them then regret that you do.

Damage produced by FG while trying to bind enemy army waiting for nuke would kinda waste the nuke itself imo.

The whole 'placement match for your division this season' seems to suggest it, if so that seems like it'd take an extraordinary long time to reach Masters. It's a placement match, so it's just for initial placement when the season starts. It'd still be possible to go from bronze to grandmaster within a season if MMR changes enough and there's a spot in GM.

You can be promoted and demoted multiple times just with more games played it harder for your mmr to go up to the point blizzard thinks they should promote you.

After calling me a 1k+ game noob still in plat and I should get laid (not really relevant imo lol), I started to wonder what is considered standard progression? To give a little background the only broodwar experience I had was playing through the campaign and moving onto the next game. I dabbled in wc3 but I was still an extreme noob back then, and I purchased sc2 the second day it came out. After 467 terran wins I've worked my way up from the bronze league to occasionally playing diamond players, but after going all the way through season 2 without a promotion to diamond I wonder if I haven't been progressing as much? I have very high aspirations (want to reach top masters), but a lot of those people have previous RTS experience right? I hear lots of claims of people buying the game and instantly soaring to master league, but is that a common occurrence? I suppose another thing that might be stressing me is that two of my friends have worked their way up to diamond already when I can't seem to break the barrier. I don't want to give up, but I've been hitting major losing streaks lately and I feel like maybe I've reached the peak of my potential without getting some external help. Please don't say "everyone progresses differently" because I'm perfectly aware of that, but with the amount of games I've played I would figure that I should have broken into diamond by now. Questions: I have 467 1v1 wins and I'm still Plat, is this normalish? If not, how far should I have progressed? If I feel I'm reaching a plateau, what can I do to break this? Hello sir. Do not feel discouraged! You started in bronze and are now at plat, that is quite a bit of improvement. I would say don't look solely at your games played as an indicator of how much progression you should have. I am not entirely sure what you have been doing to improve besides massing games. Massing games can be really great for improvement but you have to supplement that with "things" that will make you better all around. For instance, watch some pros play. You can watch vods to see general cool micro tricks or pick up tips from the casters (tastosis or pro players). Also what i have been doing lately is watching a favorite pro replays not vods but actual replays (see the mlg replay packs have tons of good games, plus new mlg this weekend). Watch the pros builds, put the camera in his view and just watch where his eyes move. How he micros, what he focuses on in battles. You can learn a lot about what you should be doing by doing this. Also, you are going to want to be practicing a good build when your massing games. For instance (what i have done for the LONGEST time) is just say ehh i think ill open banshees this game and then do an unrefined banshee build and win or lose just start the next game maybe thinking "o that didn't work, or that worked great!" either way it was just another game i wasn't actually improving anything. Instead what you want to do is maybe find 1 really refined build for each opponents race to start and really nail it down. do it every game until u can do it almost flawlessly and by doing this you can learn what its weak/strong against and tweak to your liking. This will help you build more game knowledge, and you can add on new builds as you like. Other than that just the typical "you should work on macroo!!" that everyone seems to think is the only thing lower level people should work on. (not tru imo) but yea, just keep the minerals as low as u can. Also a trick is try to have ur builds so both ur gas and minerals are low. dont let one of them get way higher than the other. for instance if u have to much gas as T then maybe scale back on marines and get more tanks next game etc etc. there are some good macro training maps out there just look at the custom game thread here on tl! if u have any questions feel free to pm me ![]()

During season two, i was easily playing at plat level or low diamond. Will they just move me up if I keep winning? Any response appreciated if you keep winning your MMR will rise and you will be put into a higher division. If you are playing at a plat/diamond level then its only a matter of time. Keep grinding those games and don't fret ![]()
