Destiny doesnt see himself in the highly competitive tournament and Lan business.
He realized how much money can be made just from streaming his games on justintv that he even swapped his job for this. And just streams his semi pro (us average) ladder games with a high entertainment factor for his viewers.
The root and possibly his col tag would have served as a minor further attraction to his streaming.
But being in a less loose team than root such as col would mean a restriction on his streaming based income and possibly a too big of a time consuming less rewarding effort as winning major tournaments is almost impossible for someone like destiny or most of the past root and current col team.
So destiny decides to focus on making money out of his stream and not wasting his time at col as it does seem like the right choice from his personal point of view.
I would think that Destiny would disagree strongly. He attends every single MLG, which certainly cuts into his money and doesn't earn him any stream revenue. He takes SC2 seriously and genuinely tries to become a better player. He's now in Grandmasters, so there's significant progress being made.
Come back when he won something and stop feeding crap like this please..
How does being a top player have anything to do with trying to be a top player?

Good luck.
Well IdrA doesn't spew racist, sexist, or homophobic insults . . . he just says things to individual people like calling them fucking skilless newbies or doesn't gg.
Seems like you have no idea what you're talking about.
It seems you don't know what you are talking about.
He has extremely toned down since joining EG and I don't think he has said anything really bad since the start of 2011.
Sure sure brah. Note that's EGIdrA.
I would recommend you stop using the word brah and read something before you respond to it.
"toned down" does not mean he has stopped completely idra will always be that way
"Anything really bad since start of 2011" , that game is from november 2010.
"He has extremely toned down since joining EG"
Continues using "faggot" despite being on EG
Apparently calling someone "faggot" is being toned down
It's quite obvious you just don't like Idra. So I'll just put it this way; The reason why Idra can get away with that is because he posts great tournament results. Destiny does not. Idra brings in lots of attention to EG, whether it's good or not, more people will end up liking Idra because he's a good player, which in turn is great for his team. If Destiny starts winning tournaments and people see him as a good player, then teams will look to grab him even with the mouth he has. Until then, this is what happens.

Because they can. They have the right to explain their side of the story, because after the contract was severed, Destiny was undoubtedly going to spin this story to make it look favorable to himself. And by the looks of this thread and the other echo chambers on the internet, he is doing that pretty successfully.
Am I to believe the words of a company who has run a legit gaming team for 10 years, or should I go with the guy who uses racial slurs that disparage my entire race and other terms that insult homosexuals because he thinks its philosophically admirable, or whatever other upper middle class white privilege idea he came up with.
As I said previously, this is a fitting end for both parties.

What??? I said nothing about "Idra getting away with it". I was just pointing out that Idra uses the word "faggot", same as Destiny.

I think this is one of the reasons as to why he doesn't think he is ready to represent a business yet. He realizes hes not as good as a lot of people up there, but at the same time realizes hes making improvements. This could explain why he doesn't want to risk losing his stream following by censoring his image (my opinion not his). I think it would be foolish of anyone to play (not cast) SC2 full time if they were not trying to become a competitive player in tournaments. And what crap is there? He has gotten a lot better since before he joined ROOT, and he does attend all of the mlg's.

But winning games in those tournaments does. Destiny done fairly well in MLGs and qualified for IPL2. So please stop telling other they are idiots.

Are you aware there is a very low percentage of pro gamers who actually win? Lots of gamers on various teams have just about as much success as Destiny. Only a few players from each team have actually won something.
"Despite Mr. Bonnell’s agreement to exercise solid judgment and professionalism in his trade, some of the polarizing opinions being expressed on his stream were in direct opposition the values compLexity has stood for"
I've watched Destiny's stream a bit. Yeah he says the N word and stuff like that often but it's not meant to be in an offensive manner. Many black people aren't even offended by that word and almost all kids use swear words now. Like he isn't out there purposely trying to offend people.
It's just a guy being himself. Respect for that.
Might be wrong since I don't watch his stream much so feel free to correct me

I'm pretty sure nothing Steven wrote on this matter could show Complexity in a bad light. That's not the case the other way round.
And if they agreed earlier on departing it's pretty dicky to invent bullshit reasons for it and communicating it that way. That's dishonest. If Destiny had tried to spread rumors or whatever on Col I would have understood them providing their side in that manner. But not when Destiny did absolutly nothing of that sort.
I applaud the decision. I had planned to "meh" in complexity's direction for this very reason (not that I've watched Destiny's stream, but I've heard his interviews), now I shall be an ardent fan.
I just wonder what kind of team would pick Destiny. It's not like he is that bad of a player; I mean, there are countless teams out there with players outside GM. He also has shown talent and creativity over time. If his behavior on stream is acceptable or not, is another question, I just wonder what will happen to his pro-graming career or if he will just give up and devote entirely to streaming.
I'd prefer the first, I like him and I want to see him improve as a player, not as a streamer.
I think this is an great oppurtunity for other teams to try to get ahold of Destiny. I say this because I witnessed the actual improvement he did when he was on ROOT and with the potential he has he's definitely a good trade for any team.
