I bought season 1 ticket blindly, because a) i want to watch more games b) i wasnt going to see them live 3) i want this thing to succeed, so terror when i go to nasl video page and they instantly spoil me the result. So, Please put some focus on the VODs, Like many other people i rather watch the games not live, so i can watch them in HD without lag issues and pause if i feel like it. there are times i like to watch all the games of a tournament (gsl code S) and times i want to watch a couple of games (GSL code a), hopefully the good ones, in any case, i don't want to be spoiled of the result of the game, or the series. i want to be able to see each game per separate. In that regard, i kind of like the format of GOMtv: - Schedule page with link to the Series - Schedule separated per rounds so there is low chance of spoiling yourself - Series with links to all the posible Matchs (best of 7 = 7 links) - Name of the Vods as spoiler free as possible (Dude1 vs Winner of (Dude2 vs Dude3)) Copy them, improve it, add a rating system, then you can start putting a page of most recommended games within the page, afterwards do some own advertising with it, etc etc.

I got just 1 tip for the commentators: if you are not using the special observer tabs (units, production, etc) just set it on the production tab. It provides by far the most information for the viewer aswell as keeping the casters up to date of whatever is going on in the game. EDIT: also, now you guys have music in the background, we barely can hear the game sounds I was actually gonna say this about the Production tab aswell, too many times I've seen it be on non-interesting tabs, like Units lost for about 5min straight, and we cant actually see what people are teching to.. I feel like you can be able to just turn on the Production tab immediately after checking and showing us something you notice in the other tabs (huge difference in units lost etc). Other than that, I have no problem with the VODs anymore, great labelling since D5, keep up the improvement!

After that, you can encode the whole thing. Some of this stuff seems to ez to notice. I mean not hearing game sounds?? how hard is that to notice. Low FPS? any video editing guy can tell low FPS in a split second. PAL is 25 FPS, NTSC is 30 FPS. What we are getting on the stream is about 18 FPS. Whoever just isnt watching the file until its broadcast. They probably notice their mistakes just like we do. The problem is if you are delaying a broadcast...everyone knows you are and they expect more. People expect more because you cant fix it. if its live and you have low game sounds, well then you just turn it up. if its broadcast and you have low game sounds....you have low game sounds the entire broadcast. If you got 2 days to before you broadcast the file, then get it right! want me to watch them? i will watch them early and let you know all the problems so you can fix them. i wont even charge you for it. The low FPS is killing me im seeing around 15 ish FPS and its absolutely atrocious, i dont know if its because they are in a rush to encode, but they should have more computers up then encoding different parts. It gets so jittery during the action, the 1080p looks awesome standing still, but id prefer gomtv quality instead of this low FPS nonesense. SOOOO many mistakes, how come people running tournaments from their basement do a better job then this , its kind of sad. Like inc said no one has any broadcasting experience working there, and that is the main problem, how do you expect to succeed like this? Hire some people with real experience, i dont want to have to watch the painful learning curve of your employees. The NASL video honestly gives me a huge headache when i watch it , its a mixture of the low FPS the sub par casting and the wierd lighting and the fact that it looks like your casting from a cave with a very simple backdrop. It all just makes me cringe, i payed 25 bucks for somethign that gives me a throbbing headache, what a great deal =/ Honestly im watching the GSL right now and although it may not be a fair comparison, their production quality is so impeccable , best casters no hiccups decent quality, great players awesome venue. I dont care if its online tournament, you guys need a better casting desk, it literally looks like a cave with a grey NASL flag flattened as the background and an almost BARE casting desk. Not the unmatched production values i was promised, i cant beleive they said this. It just makes me rage that i payed 25 dollars for it, i really hope next week is a huge improvement, i already requested a refund but highly doubt ill get it.

The reason is casters. InControl is so awesome on streams/SotG but here he sounds overofficial and not relaxed as he should be. Gretorp is just not working at all, atlest for me. I can see him as a 3rd caster (korean style), but as 2nd caster, and with InControl, he really kills any interest in NASL for me :<

I can see him as a 3rd caster (korean style), but as 2nd caster, and with InControl, he really kills any interest in NASL for me :< I hear this over and over and over, and i think they really need to do something about it, gretorp that is. He just isnt caster material the NASL is running a bussiness and the community has been pretty outspoken about it, I know you guys have a relationship with gretorp, but get him to run some things in the background, being polite and letting him stay on just because he was there when it started isnt going to get you anywhere =/ Casters are pretty important and i think that is easiest step NASL could take towards improving the league. There are alot of other problems but that alone would help legitimize the league (getting some serious casters with actual casting skills) listen to your community , sure gretorp has improved over the week but it doesnt really matter if you just dont have the casting voice or look. I feel really bad for the NASL as it has been a really negative week for them, but why wouldnt you be pissed off if you were a paying customer and this is the quality you got, i know i was, between the missed games, the spoiler (axslav squirtle) , the promise of unmatched production that just isnt there, and the casters its just not a good representation of what e-sports should be at least for now. TSL on the other hand, is just great such an awesome league i love the casters i love the simple layout i love the music, and the fact that its HD for free. There is a reason you hear little to no complaints about the TSL as opposed to the NASL its not just because people are harsh or biased, its because the quality is not there. The community response to the TSL has been overwhelmingly positive aside from lag issues, if the NASL only had lag issues to worry about they would be laughing all the way to the bank but right now lag is the last thing on peoples minds when they watch the NASL

The site is badly designed. There must be someone on TL that would make a good looking NASL site for free (I'd do it myself if i could) Casters are doing a bad job (I have to be honest here. I watched the first rebroadcast and was immediately disappointed by the unprofessionalism. Bad lighting in the studio, bad audio, and, moreover, a quite boring and dull cast - and no, it does not help if you guys turn up your voices during a mediocre drop or battle). But I have to appreciate the work that has been put into NASL so far. Thanks a lot. I can imagine how much time you guys spent on it. I just have the feeling, you guys do not feel comfortable on camera. Maybe try and get more guest casters like digity and fresh'n it up. So far, the NASL has not reached the promised expectations. I would like to get a season pass to support you guys, but somehow I just feel buying an unfinished service. Therefore, I hope you guys can somehow fastly improve your cast and offer a good viewing experience. Maybe then I will consider getting a season pass. gl

Just fix the sound quality issues and the lighting really is a bit off, fix the white balance on the camera so it looks less yellow and basementy(?)

Like you and all but the biggest fanboys have said, the casting is just lackluster, i think incontrol does a decent job, but i really cant stand gretorp, and the both of them together is almost worse as their chemistry together is just awful. Like ive said have gretorp help improve things in the background and get a proffesional caster, i dont think the nasl realises how much something like this could make a difference in the success of the league. If gretorp ever reads this he should gracefully step aside, i would respect him so much if he did this for the sake of the league , im sure there is alot of useful work he could be doing in the background that could improve the NASL, but him and casting just seems to leave a bad taste in peoples mouths. I would take it all back if the casting improved (ie new casters) and give them a chance to focus on the rest of the quality over the next few weeks, the casting is something that can be quickly and easily fixed. Oh also the framerate im almost certain thats what give me the throbbing headache while watching the NASL (well awful casting for the most part too) but every day ive watched the NASL this week within the first 20 minutes to half an hour i have a headache, and im just cringing. could be also because im frusterated that such a great idea and a great step forward for esports has been butchered so far =(. Not that i havent enjoyed a few of the games but it still doesnt draw me in like any other tournament i watch (even small tournaments with less known amateur casters) step it up guys please! i want this thing to work!

In general, I think that once NASL gets the sound issues fixed and their casts have the sound quality of GSL (in-game music/noise + commentating working well together) it will be a lot better.

i dont know what you can do but get justintv to fix something, i can normally watch 3 non justin tv 1080p streams at the same time with no lag, i cant even watch one of your vods for 3 seconds without lag even after its fully loaded. i really hope you guys get serious about fixing this, i dont have any problem with the casts themselves but this is basically the worst tournament for me because its literally unwatchable.

- Make VODs available in a timely fashion on the NASL site - they are unreasonably slow atm - Copy GSL schedule, navigation and layout for VODs. - Label the Justin.tv recordings correctly Work on the production value of the casts, but this secondary relative to fixing the state of the VODs atm So frustrating to see these simple things not being done correctly. There is so much potential for NASL but they are so close, yet so far. GL guys hope it works out for you.

I defenetly agree with how slow the vods go up, sometimes if you miss half the tournament and you just want to watch the vods instead it kind of sucks because you have to wait a day + A good example is the GSL they do it in a very timely manner sometimes its up within 2-3 hours max 7-8 hours id say though^^ not 24+
