If the casters are unsure of how to pronounce a player's name (i.e. Brat_OK), find out before the cast. It's embarrassing for NASL to hand pick these players and not know how to pronounce their name. Brat_OK says his name 15 seconds into his application video.

A. Listen to their application video.
B. Check with the team manager.
C. Discuss this with the player before the match.

Love it that you have improved so much in 1 week already . I got just 1 tip for the commentators: if you are not using the special observer tabs (units, production, etc) just set it on the production tab. It provides by far the most information for the viewer aswell as keeping the casters up to date of whatever is going on in the game.

EDIT: also, now you guys have music in the background, we barely can hear the game sounds

Ditch the weird split screen in the beginning of every game, it's just confusing and unnecessary.

Because it's not set numbers and frankly the business of the streamer. I don't get why this info even matters to the average joe. I know I don't spend hours trying to hunt down how much Ford paid for a commercial in last night's show.....

I might be alone in this, but I think they are too many games. I simply do not have the time to follow all of them. I didn't buy a pass for the vods, but I'm told it's all just one video, so even if I did buy a pass, it would still be difficult to find the matches I wanted to watch. Since I can't really follow this whole thing, I'm losing interest.
I also don't think you should be cancelling matches (MC vs brat_ok). These matches are your product. You should do everything you can do get these televised, especially for matches containing such high caliber players. It's disappointing not being able to see what would be great games. Just my two cents.

Diamond,

Seeing as how anyone can have a JTV account, and stream, I assumed the alleged ad-sharing policy was public knowledge. Why on Earth would it be secret? In my original request I mentioned how I signed up for an account and reached out to the staff of JTV and cannot get a response. I find this rather peculiar, so am reaching out to the TL community for assistance.

I'm quite familiar with impression sharing, which is the typical model used by content farm sites, but I am curious as to how -or if- these streaming sites are using an impression share (PPC), CPM, or some other type of tiered model.

I don't get why this info even matters to the average joe.

It matters to the average Joe considering the prospect of using a streaming service to generate additional income, and using this knowledge to make a decision on which service to use.

However, I own an online marketing firm and a film scoring company and am seeking this information for other reasons.

If you have these resources available to you, but do not want to make them public for some reason, please consider sending me a PM and I will absolutely respect your privacy.

The partner-ad model is different from the public-ad model for jtv according to every streamer I've heard discuss it. From the looks of it, jtv partners sign a contract involving a NDA about the precise workings of the program. I suspect this is partly because they don't want their model being sharked by other streaming corporations.

Overall the casting is better. Yes you make mistakes, but DO NOT always feel the need to acknowledge it and say "sorry, blah blah blah". It's great to be humble, but we just want to hear about the game. We know you made one, just move on.

For example if you call a siege tank a marine while casting then stop to say oh sorry i am so dumb. My mistake". Its just a long unnecessary sentence we don't need to hear. A simple "excuse me, siege tank" then continue with the game.

Support you guys 100%, few frustrations, but we know your listening.

People wanted a chance to get up and use the bathroom or get a drink/snack without missing the stream. It was a common complaint during the first days of NASL.

Are there too many football games? Yes. Are there too many baseball games? Yes. Are there too many basketball games? Yes.... Just watch the matches you want to, and skip the ones you care less about. I fail to see how people just cannot make this connection in their mind, there's really no reason to feel that having too many games is a bad thing...

As for cancelling matches, again, a sports comparison works best. Forfeits happen, it's life. Better to spend 90% of their effort on the 95% of matches that happen as scheduled than 90% bending backwards for the 5% of matches that don't. There are far too many elements involved for them to make special considerations for that one player, though likely they want to and try. Moreover, if they make a special case for one player, they'll need to do that for everyone. That is chaos.

You, sir, have clearly neither run a league with such a tight schedule, nor participated in a real sport. The very complaint you had about "too many matches" is the perfect solution to the complain that "we missed that one match". There will be more highly-anticipated matches, so the one that got away will not be missed.

Destiny has spoken multiple times about the justintv payment policy. Anyone interested should just ask him on his stream.

Alright, here is my opinion and views, because everyone is entitled to my opinion!

- Stream quality is good/great. There is a slight framerate issue (seems jerky all the time). I have tried accross multiple computers so I suspect it has something to do with site/stream/production, which I do not know.

- Post-production could use some work. Why does the score show up for 10 seconds during the 15-20 minutes games? Shiny graphics and sound effects to present players in interviews and such if you can. But overall, just score would be great during games. Hate having to jump on #teamliquid and ask for score and almost getting banned for it.

- Audio has improved, but is still lacking. Sound levels are so low, I have to pump my sound up 25% and it's still too low. Sound quality is not that great for image quality that's so high. You need a good balance between both.

- As stated in the poll in the OP, interviews and hype should go between games, not 1 huge segment at the beginning of the cast. It works well for NFL and whatever because they show 1 game. NASL has multiple games and by the time we get to that 3rd game, the hype is long gone and forgotten.

- VODs... yes we all know the problem but the more voices complain about it the faster it gets fixed (I hope). You want 1 page for the match ups of the day which expands to a page for the series and 1 VOD per set à la TSL3/GSL where spoilers won't happen.

- And if you want extra value to that series, maybe a short text for game preview (aka fit hype in there). Would allow for quick browsing for those people who wants to view select number of series without actually watching everything cause... well we might have lives.

- Casters... I'm sorry to say but I can't say I enjoy it. I know you try really hard but it just comes through as fake. Although improper, the WCF crew had the best synergy, energy and all other -gy things going for them. A cast like that (although a bit more PG) would be awesome. I'm not asking them to be on, but maybe try something with someone who's got good casting energy to mix with gretorp or incontrol for the play by play and then have the progamers do the analysis part. Something needs to be done, either a total overhaul or just getting extra hands and mixing it up some, but yeah, at the moment I can't say I'm thrilled.

- Games are awesome, when they happen. It's unfortunate that some games had to be canceled, but up to now the level of games are pretty awesome.

Hope this helps a bit in improving. The future is exciting!

edit: Last thing, although the mirror incontrol is funny as hell, running it 3x in a row kind of kills it.

Don't really have too much to add since most of my complaints/ideas have already been covered in the thread, but I'd like to say that I'm liking what I'm hearing change wise and I'm loving NASL already. Keep of the good work guys, NASL looks very promising!

I was watching with speakers the other day and I realized just how much louder Gretorp sounds compared to iNcon, is there anyway to have some sort of mixer to limit the volume when Gretorp yells or to boost up Inc's volume so that they are equalized.

Something that I find very annoying is the lack of a login bar at the top of the website homepage. I have to always click get my HD pass in order to eventually get to a spot where I can login. It would be much appreciated!
