Seems like plenty of people trumpet their support of eSports but when it's time to get the wallet out and show you mean business, there's a lot of hesitation. It is worth the small price and risk.
Well they have my cash.

- First : the schedule is way better than GSL for me. What this means is I'm more inclined to pay for GSL (so I can watch the vods) and just watch NASL with the free live stream, as it will be in prime time in my timezone. - Second : so far everytime I saw gretorp and incontrol casting, the cast was ok (not as good as tastosis or wheat[9], but not bad either. Average), but the obsing was subpar. Not a lot of people mentioned that, but it took GSL some seasons to have a great (the best in the scene, in fact) observer. I really didn't liked the obsing in the titan showmatch (but perhaps they have improved). - And third, I just want to see how this will play out. I fear we will have a lot of uninteresting matches pretty quickly, I know I don't really want to watch 8 place vs 10 place game. And there will be a lot of those kind of matches. All of this is pointing me to the wait and see stance, but I guess I'll subscribe eventually. (and I have good hopes nasl will be good, despite of my critical post). The sure thing is that my money will always goes in priority to GSL.

Yes it costs money and we got no test whatsoever how it runs (looking at you showmatch) "but it spport esports", just look in this thread alone. Is it so hard to understand that people just wanna check out the worth of content/stream first before paying? I can assure you if it goes fine without to much troubles (l am looking at you mlg) more people WILL buy it.

That's the sound of you completely missing the point as it sails high over your head. You do not need to eat at a RESTAURANT to survive, that is not survival, eating out at a restaurant is a luxury. The point was that more often than not a person will happily risk spending 25 dollars or more on a single meal they may not like, even when they could have eaten at home for just a couple of dollars and not bat an eyelid, yet somehow taking a risk on 3 months of an albeit unproven league, for the same price, is somehow a big deal.

Well they have my cash. The problem is not the amount of money. The problem is, NASL is just kinda of an extra thing, not everyone has the time to watch hours and hours of different starcraft tournaments, mlg, iem, gsl, etc. Since ive been paying for the gsl, and i barely have the time to even watch that, why would i pay 25 dollars to watch a league that i dont even have the time for?(i do have the time, but i would have to pick between GSL or NASL), but if NASL was free, then maybe i can squeeze in more time into watching NASL, but since its 25, i might as well not.

See, you say it yourself, unproven league. At least when i got a restaurant i know what to expect. Since its 2 completely different things its just silly to compare wich was my point. Why would i take a risk when i don't need to? I just check it out the first week or 2 and if its good i buy it. Yet when i say that it seems that some people here look at me like i am some bad person and doesn't want to "support esport"

Well they have my cash. They already have my cash, 25 dollar. Not 20. It wonders me that you criticize as if all post here were made by a community with no diversity between its members while the contrary is true. It is well-known that a great amount of people playing SCII and being on this forum do not have a steady income yet. If you live on an allowance then it is only logical that you are “cheap” with your money. None of these people are eating in a chain restaurant for over 25$ alone, when they do then it is in a group with friends and a rare occasion. Also, when you don’t have a steady income your expenses are a sum of events. It is and 2$ for this, and 2$ for this, and 1$ for this, 8$ for that, 1.5$ for that and there is no way you can really skip anything. Unless you are a rich kid with a very decent allowance who can spend more than he basically needs. The second, much smaller, group does have a steady income and should in my eyes buy the 20$ ticket in pre-sale IF they support e-sports blindly. But I have read some very legitimate posts were some say that they want to check the quality first, and in my eyes they are completely allowed to. The Clash of The Titans was very poorly made, especially because it wasn’t live. It was a great idea, but the execution was poor. But your post is plain dumb. In thread X there are 50 people out of 80 saying that they support e-sport, in thread Y there is 30% saying they doubt to buy the 20$ ticket. Post Z in thread Y states “plenty of people trumpet their support of e-Sports but when it's time to get the wallet out and show you mean business, there's a lot of hesitation”. Not to speak that you can support E-sport without having to pay 20$. I know people who prefer to help a community by putting hours of voluntary work into it than to help a community by paying a small fee. As accountant/poker player that doesn’t make sense to me on a paid/hour level but maybe I should have a talk with all the mods on different forums who do so much without getting paid. As a respected member in this community you should stop making stupid troll post that should only be written by a guy with an IQ of 85. There are a million better ways to convince people to pay 20$ for this tournament. Use your brain and you might find a couple that are not so aggressive/provocative. Do not eat at a restaurant and put money in E-sports, the business where I make my money in is a terrible and pathetic post. In my opinion.

I bought premium tickets for GSL 3 times and they were worth the money and i can still see them whenever i feel like it and this is gonna be the same thing. There are to many games and i can't see them all but with this i will never miss my favourite players! Hope this first NASL season is a great success, i feel like this is the make it or brake it time for esports.. if NASL fails it will take a few years until there is someone willing to spend big bucks...

I don't know if you can blame americans for not knowing that not even every third person in europe has access to a credit card, but they should at least react to the criticism in this thread and offer paypal or comparable payment method. I am willing to pay the money, but I am not willing to get a credit card just for NASL. I hope the paypal announcement by incontrol will become true in time.

Man, I'm going to be dead any minute. Going out to eat is a form of leisure and entertainment, just because food is involved doesn't change that. Think about where you spend money and how - you've probably effectively set 25 bucks on fire and thrown it out the window over the past month without thinking twice. Bottom line for me: We spent as much as NASL costs on trivial shit all the time. If you like Starcraft 2 enough to be on TL.net, I can't imagine you won't get your money's worth out of NASL.
