Or the example in my post, the Premier League (the league with the most revenue in the world i think?). That's not exactly non-profit as far as i'm aware but the huge majority of money goes to the teams. I don't think you even understand what i'm saying. Money should obviously go to run the league, like in my examples. But in this case my subscription is essentially going ALL to the league and not to the teams/players. Money should go to operation and towards the people spending their time running the league. But that money should be proportional to how big/successful the league is, should it not? That's why a league coming out of nowhere with a huge prize pool has not been the best way to go in the past for eSports. I'm not going to argue this any further, it's only my personal reasoning you can think what you like. But imagine NASL stops in a few seasons. Where did all the money go to? The subscriptions went to the organizers and the sponsors likely paid the few players who won the top prizes. There's not even any trickle down money to anyone else to create stability. When did this theory actually work i ask you? And integral i can't believe you bought up the 'Support eSports' thing as reasoning when i've been explaining exactly why i don't think it will support the people i actually want to be supported. You can say 'no the money will actually help others' but it doesn't make it a fact as we just don't know and i'm inclined to think it's not. I don't want to be rude, but I have a simple question: How many people do you think actually made a living off of Broodwar?

GSL charges you (fairly, imo) 10-15 dollars each month. For the NASL you are purchasing a 3 month ticket for 20-25 dollars. That's a decent amount less if you look at it on a month-to-month basis.

MLG - Has problems starting on time, this time they were only 1 hour and 30 min too late, last time 2-3 hours so i guess they have improved. Their stream also crashes pretty much all the time (right of this writing for example). IEM - Similar problems to MLG, not as severe, but still there. Confusing layout and very difficult to follow. Dreamhack - Same as above, delays delays delays Assembly - Had 2 casters, where one of them did not even want to be there and was yelling "I want them to end this so i can go home" TSL - The only tournament that hasent had any problems, good qualty and did not crash for me at all. No i am not sucking up to TL at all, their **** actually worked and was on time. For all the excuses, GSL is also live and yet barely if ever has any delays, when things do go wrong you barely wait more than 5 minutes for it to be fixed and you also get a apology from the casters and updates. MLG? It is not even mentioned, last year it was not mentioned that they were late 2-3 hours, neither is it this time. To sum it up: Not buying NASL, until they prove that they can run a consistent, well produced show without any major hickups and delays. Blame it on MLG, IEM and others for making eSports look bad and unorganized. The "its live dude, problems happen" dosent work, GSL is proof of that and for that i will continue supporting GSL "Support e-sports!" No! Only support things that deserve it, dont throw your money on things just to support some cause that might let you down. Money has a value, anyone who paid now for MLG must feel really bad, i dont want to be in their shoes.

There's also the quality of content. There are plenty of world-class players in this event, but also plenty of not-so-great players, which reduces the number of games that are actually going to be worth watching. The commentary also will not be as good as the GSL; I love Incontrol, but Gretorp really should stick to playing, he has no enthusiasm or charisma. On top of all this, they're going to put commercial interruptions into the paid VODs? I was excited for this in spite of all of the flaws, because of the progress it represents, but I feel that this pricing is a huge slap in the face. There should be no comparison between this and the GSL.

Unless SirScoots and InControl are watching, and making sure this shit doesn't happen, 'cause I feel bad for everyone who bought the HD stream from MLG.

Do you know anything about BW? How about the employees of KeSPA, OGN, MBC and the SKT1, KT, Oz, Stars, ACE, FOX, Samsung, CJ, MBC team coaches, players, even housekeepers and other staff members. Is that somehow not enough for a comparatively tiny sport or what. How many people does giving $25 to NASL make a career for? I shouldn't be surprised of course. Just another person who signed up in 2010 and doesn't know shit about Starcraft before this time.

I'll pay $20 to watch all the VODs because I sure as hell won't have time to watch everything live. You got a customer here, don't let us down.
