The problem I have with the insane difficulty is that it might make for very long games or abuse some strategies. If you can change the difficulty in the middle of the campaign I might begin as insane and then switch to hard if I find it annoying.

Authenticate to Battle.net, play campaign offline without achievements and no required connection until next time you start the game Authentication isn't required for guess mode, only on the initial install.

Since we know there's a small handful of missions that will be locked out based on the player's choices during the campaign, I know I'm gonna be playing the campaign through a second time anyway. (Plus, this way I can try out alternate researches and mercenaries, etc) So I figure I'll do it on Normal the first time around, to really absorb the story, etc. Then do it on Insane (Brutal? whatever the hardest is) to take alternate paths and try and get the achievements.
