Marauders can't shoot up, stalkers have more life, etc.
If you're gonna draw a comparison, compare roaches to marauders (still different units obv., but a hell of a lot more similar)
The only recent rage story I have is vs a Z player who built a hatch inside my main on steppes of war, which I easily deny (I 9 rax vs zerg), and then I proceed to bunker up his main entrance, top of the ramp, to contain him for a bit, I proceed doing my normal FE build and win the game with a massive MMM ball doing a drop in his main and an attack on his natural at the same time. He pretty much went with roach/baneling/ling the entire game. At the end of it he proceeds to go "Fucking cheese player, gg easy mode marauders"

Hehe, he did a play on words, he meant "cheap" literally in the way that Marauders(100/25) are cheaper than Stalkers(125/50)

So what am I to do? Wait for an unknown amount of time? If the game was something important, then I wouldn't ask questions and just let it go. But in a simple ladder game, if you need to go afk, at least say something and possibly how long it will take. Sitting there wondering what's going on is no fun.

I thought you could only pause for 2 minutes at a time anyway? Also I can't imagine you always have time to state a reason for pausing, like if your stove is on fire or your baby is playing with the electrical outlets.
Hmmm..really? If that is true, that is definitely news to me. Also, if that's true then for now on I probably would just wait 2 minutes since that's not terrible.
Edit (to respond to your edit) - If there was such an emergency, then I don't think worrying about a ladder game would be on anyone's priority list...but hey...I'm sure there's someone out there who could prove me wrong.
When I was in Gold I used Blink Stalkers along with an observer a lot against all Races so I was usualy labeld a Cheater, Maphacker, Exploiter and noob by most players that just didn’t understand how so many stalkers could just be in their base when they had their Ramp secured.... It’s a mystery
Played a TvZ today on Metalopolis, get a nice little mm backed by tanks and 2 igniter helions. Zerg just goes mass roaches, does not make any blings or speedlings and does not even try to flank my army. I come in, massacare his expo he says "How is that fair!" and leaves, I reply to him in chat "Should have made speedlings/blings and flank and scout me" to which he says

So if something takes his attention away where he can't write something quick it's not important? Even when he paused a second time?
I actually had somebody do this to me when I got a a call on the phone and couldn't tell them what I was doing. MADE me rage hard because of it. So I would have to say you where the one in the wrong.

There are obviously situations in which you would not be able to say anything. In my particular case; however, the guy was overall a douche before this situation so I wasn't going to give him any benefit of the doubt. It's easy to sit here and judge after the fact. But at the time I felt like it was the right decision. If such a situation ever occurs again, I will probably approach it in a different manner.

It's not really a play on words if he literally means what he says now is it
And I did interpret it as literally meaning that, I'm just saying you can't call marauders cheap just because stalkers are more expensive, they're a non comparable unit, if only because stalkers can kill air.
I was in a game or PvP where I went 2 gate Collossus and he went for a 4 warpgate push. I forcefielded him out of my main until I got my Collossus out, so that I could break his attack. He decided that, because I forcefielded him OUT of my base, he should forcefield me IN, which would have been an okay plan, except that Collossus can just walk over the forcefields and break them. When I did this, he got really had and proceeded to rant (fairly nonsensically, too) for a full four minutes about how broken and easy to use Collossi were, while he hid pylons and nexii around the map to stall while he ranted. Then he left with no GG.
Some of the things he said were really awesome though, such as: "They're like a fucking hammer that shoots fucking hammers that do splash"
When I play T, I just ragequit TvT immediately, not going to bother with that stagnant viking/tank matchup.
Thankfully ZvZ is a little more mercifull in being shorter game, but if both sides masses muta it becomes just as tedious as TvT.
TvZ's -- try playing ZvT, you'll feel LaLush rage when mech leapfroggs and facerolls you :D Here's how you do it! (sure it's HoN but the idea is pretty similiar)
Some 2on2 Random Team Ladder. In the beginnings the question "arranged team?" came around. Later in the match my ally left too early, because he thought we would be losing. I stayed in the game and now the flaming begun "get out, don't waste our time". 25 Minute's later I won the game 1v2 while getting flamed nonstop the last 5 minutes.
I played vs ESPORTS (must be a TL member/lurker) diamond level ZvZ on lost temple. He goes for the usual baneling opening and I learned something new from my friend SLush so I did a fast expand followed by multi spines and all the good stuff.
I barely stopped his baneling push and managed to get SEVERAL mutalisk before he could get anything else, but the game didn't finish there. He got hydralisk, but just too many of them so I started to make zergspeed/banelings, but a TON of em. I had 61 banelings (got the count from the replay) and I proceeded to A-move..... literaly destroyed his hydras and than I had like 20-30ish left and focused his expand and lair KABOOM!. He left without saying GG and I made a rule to PM GG when I get to the score screen (if someone didn't say GG). He proceeded to insult me saying that I was a newb and that I would die in a car fire.
I dont see the point of thinking its bm to not say gg before leaving in a LADDER game.. I mean hell, what if someone doesnt follow esports/SC and doesnt know what GG means?? And doesnt understand that you are "suppose" to say that at the end of the game? Are you gonna pm them after the game just to be a dick and say it to them? Thats not cool at all.
Who cares if people leave in a ladder game without saying GG.. If they dont say "fuck you" or anything, chances are they just wanna get on with the next game and play.
Ladder, not important.. League/streamed matches (streamed as in tournament, not random not knowing you are being streamed).. then sure, saying GG should be mandatory.. Although Idra clearly doesnt care about that.
anyways.. I'll admit to raging a bit this patch, only in PvT. Specifically the ones where the dicks go mass turret/tank slow push expo.. And hide behind their expos the whole game while massing the MMM balls with ghosts. I just feel so helpless, and when these games go over 50 mins to an hour, its frustrating. I've only raged in like.. 2 or 3 of them though, the other 3-4 when people did that I just asked politely what is the best way to deal with this.. Some dont reply, but some at least act nicely (sMI Arcology was a nice guy to talk to about it after his terran beat me, but thats the only one I can think of who isnt a dick)
I've had lots of people rage in mirror match PvP when I beat them straight up (no proxy or DT).. which is comical because mirror match is about as balanced as it can get lol
