Another story back in the early release I think, maybe late beta TvZ
In the first second of the game he said "Watch out, your on stream" I didnt said anything as i didnt care
Scrapstation I did a fast expansion into a 6 siegetank push to secure the third base, he lost several fights trying to crush me with banelings, muta, ling. After he wasted his army once more he said "Omg noobrace, try to learn zerg" minute later "gg bad game, hope you die on aids"
well, his viewers were probably entertained ^^ The people who post that they are streaming that makes it seem like that actually means something are always hilarious. I played a Terran who asked if I was cheesing then immediately posted his stream link. I wasn't but then it turned out he was 3rax stim timing (You know, that build from 2 years ago that is basically useless now), and when I beat him one-sidedly he said I was hacking and that his viewers could be his witness. So I checked his stream and I was the only viewer when I got to the stream.

I learned the basics of macro, micro, flanks, control groups, hotkeys, etc when I first decided to play competitively. And I never played at release and was a year late to the party so I was behind the meta as well. IMO doesn't matter how many games it takes, as long as you do improve in the end. Now I've beaten a handful of Pros and GMs, and am still improving little by little, as it's a lot harder now. I also have about a thousand team games which is included in that 5k.

What is it when the other guy is losing but they make it so the game is paused right as they quit? Is it some last minute trick where you might hit "surrender" instead of going to the score screen? I get that once in a while.
|
They pause it and leave. Not a very hard concept to grasp.

Yeah but if they leave then they have immediately lost. Is the hope that you might hit the surrender button in the split second before they quit? Or is it just a thing for you to be annoyed by the pause?

A while ago, at least a year or two ago, the game got stuck if the opponent paused and left, and basically you'd have to restart starcraft to get it to work again (I think, I never had anyone successfully do it against me but it was a bit inconvenient, though you still got the win as far as I know). There's no reason to do it now, but for a while it was a thing to annoy your opponent with if you were angry or whatever.

Tecmo Bowl on the NES. Played on an original NES system that was 20 years old.
I am getting outplayed the entire game, but my opponent can not put the ball in the end zone. Before half time i connect on 1 long bomb pass for a touch down. That is all the scoring i can manage until the final play of the game.
4th Quarter, 10 seconds left. My opponent has the ball on my 10 yard line I am losing 12-7, my opponent has kicked 4 short field goals.
My opponent wants to emphasize how much better he is than me so he attempts to score a Touchdown on the final play. He is clearly better than me at Tecmo Bowl.
I'm luck i'm only losing 12-7.
Well, he throws a pass that i intercept and my guy runs it 100 fucking yard back
I'm about to win the game 14-12. I'm about to cross his goal to score and win.
My opponent step forward and kicks the 20 year old NES system 30 metres across his den. This was a field goal style kick.
We were both stunned to discover. The NES still works.
Cut to this year. I win an SC2 game against this same guy. He kicks his lap top 10 metres. He is not lucky this time. His motherboard, and GPU are thoroughly fucked. This SC2 loss cost him $1,100.

TheGreatMM1 ist the most unfriendly guy I've ever seen.
He called me stupid idiot after i played a early SH-Strategy. Perhaps hes quite bad :D

Hmm, maybe not funny for myself, but a big annoyance of mine is when players, more so other terrans type "GL HF" and proceed to attack my SCV building the barracks during the scout.
Generally speaking I won't leave the game against a zerg or protoss until after my SCV dies.
Against any terran, or any friend / team mate (T/Z/P) I will leave the game the moment the probe/scv/drone attacks my builder.
To simplify :+ Show Spoiler +Times when it is acceptable include. Opposing terran did not scout. Opposing terran is proxing his or her barracks Opposing terran went CC first Player against the terran did not type "GL Hf" or any other friendly competitive greeting.
This typically leads to me raging at the person when they bm after game with messages like "You on tilt" "You bad" "lmao wtf" .. and the sorts.
However, if the player does not type GL HF, then I take no offense to the person harassing my SCV, I do understand its a normal activity to type "Good luck, have fun" at the start of a game, but if the players don't mean it, then he or she should not say it.

What are you talking about dude? You want them to not use a viable and completely normal strategy in the beginning, which rarely does any actual harm just because they typed GLHF?

"You can't type "GL HF" if you're going to cheese." Sounds legit.

when i was 12 i used to play this guy's dad in "Super Tecmo Bowl". he was very big and strong. i usually won. he never got mad at me. the NES would take a beating after i left.
he usually destroyed an NES and its controllers about once a month. he would buy another NES whatever weekend it happened.
He kept the "Super Tecmo Bowl" cartridge and never damaged it. Those things were like gold and basically irreplacable back then.
oops, i thought this was in "General" and not "SC2". Sry for going off topic.

I agree 110% with this. It's the unbelievable nerve it takes for a terran who presumably also experiences the rage of it to just turn around and inflict that on somebody else. So many games that have gone from this to SCVs not stacking correctly on minerals just end in unexplainable rage quits for me.
