To me there are two pretty obvious candidates for Chelsea who’d conceivably take the job. Brendan Rogers has history there (I don’t think it’s super relevant but it seems to count) and I mean he hasn’t really done a bad job at any of his club gigs since and including Swansea. He’s shown flexibility too, his Swansea side were very possession orientated and his Leicester side is adept at counter-attacking, so he could adapt to the players he’s got too. If they want to go with the in vogue German school, Ralph Hassenhutl has experience in the league already and he’s done a pretty job. The problem with Chelsea is they seem in desperate need of a coach who has a fully fleshed out system who knows what they want to have their players doing. On the other hand they have a very star-studded squad and are a prestigious side with high expectations. There aren’t a huge amount of top coaches who are at the cutting edge of the German school who have much experience in those kind of environments. Klopp is obviously off the market, Tuchel seemed to struggle with that side of it, plus clashed with the board at Dortmund, even Nagelsman has built and pushed on Leipzig, so there’s no guarantee he would come off if he’s the man Chelsea are going for.

He'll struggle to deal with the off-pitch stuff (boardroom, media, English culture, etc). He'll be an AVB v.2? Poch would've been a safer 'next gen' choice, but that boat has sailed. Nagelsmann is coaching in the Bundesliga for 5 years straight, he isn't raw by any means.

Also, probably coaching RB Leipzig is one way to grow a bit thicker skin and some diplomatic abilities. Of course there's still plenty to learn in PL, but in some ways he's probably more prepared than Lampard for example.

Why would he leave Leipzig and play CL next season to switch to Chelsea and dont play on european leauges at all though?

He has aspirations of managing Bayern but they have distanced themselves from him with their latest recruitment and there is no way Real take him with the little experience he has, so a club like Chelsea would be the step he needs to go. Plus gets to work with Werner again and Kai which he has been having his say on recently too.

Holy smokes, Cheltenham 20 minutes away from me haha, big scalp this will be, they are chilling in the lower depths of League 2 (division 4) And 2-1 City with 3 minutes to go, unlucky Cheltenham!

He isn't stupid, he knows that he will get more chances to train a top club in the future and doesn't need to rush things.
