I actually feel bad for Frankie-daddy. Just looking at his frowning face should melt most hearts. Also Chelsea isn't even doing poorly, they're 5 points from champions league qualification, 11 from the top and it's such a weird season that anything can happen there. They didn't lose a game in champions league and are through in the FA cup, like what are the realistic expectations?

Also afaik it's not exactly his fault that the club are burning money as if it was the 1920's in Weimar Republic. He got less than six months after the first transfer window where he was allowed to make signings, of course the squad is rough and there'll be questions of who fits where. Thumbs down from me.

Good news for me tho I guess, I always enjoyed the manager carousel days of Chelsea and lets be honest, so should most plastics like Pande,t least they won a title every other year that way.

The problem was hiring Lampard in the first place. Both Klopp and Mourinho spent over 5+ years with B teams before hitting big with Porto and Dortmund. And then another 2-3 years before coming to EPL.

Guardiola is truly a maverick (or lucky star). Even then, he proved his mettle twice in Barca and Bayern.

It's silly to expect the Lampards, Solkjaers, and Artetas to lead the big English teams to glory. They may nick a minor trophy or two. But they don't have the staying power. Out of the three, only Solkjaer has truly made 'his bones' with the lower leagues to gain experience. Even so, he's barely hanging on as well.

The next maverick won't be rushing into the hot seat. The likes of Nagelsmann are smart enough to bid their time and work their way up according to their pace. By the time they hit the big leagues, they'll also earn more confidence and patience from the management even if they make a rocky start.

As far as I can tell, most of the recent transfers were decided by the board (Marina mostly, I guess) rather than Lampard and Lampard never quite managed to fit the pieces together. It's interesting to see how Tuchel plans to set up the same set of players.

We broke a record for most passes in a half of football in the premier league, seems we hired the German Pep after 1 league game, interesting to say the least.

Tuchel seemed happy after the game though with what he saw, and we have a quick turn around before playing Burnley on the weekend so hopefully can get a win there before going into a stupidly tough February for us that will define our season.
