Just gonna point out, they also had a 2nd and 3rd eleven.
2nd team:
Buffon - Carlos Alberto, Baresi, Roberto Carlos - Pirlo, Rijkard, Di Stefano, Zidane - Garrincha, Cruyff, Ronaldinho
3rd team:
Neuer - Lahm, Ramos, Breitner - Neeskens, Didi, Platini, Iniesta - Best, Van Basten, Henry
To be honest I'm pissed Gerd Müller isn't on any of these. Also semi surprised about no Puskas.

Such lists are always biased towards footballers (or athletes) of recent times. It's funny because for all-time rankings on different people (musicians, politicians) it seems to exactly the other way around. And neither sounds plausible to me.

Gods if Arsenal lose this lol

Leeds is super entertaining to watch again. Long time Newcastle fan but I gotta admit this is a very deserved 3-2 lead.
edit I guess long time newcastle fan is redundant, not like they've gained any fans the past two decades lol

I love how unpredictables are the results in the leagues this season. The tables are all crazy right now in England, Spain, Italy, etc.
I guess it is a result of the lack of pre-season.

Well, at least we got a point

Might be true for Sweden, but I've never heard of it. As a Norwegian it would make a lot more sense to travel directly to Newcastle than to travel to Stockholm first. I don't think there really are all that many Newcastle fans around anyway, and I've literally never met a Sunderland fan.
I just googled it and in 2011, there were 103000 norwegians who were official supporters of a british club. 43000 of those were manchester united supporters, 36000 Liverpool, 6000 arsenal, 4000 leeds, and then the other clubs have 13000 combined. (newcastle clocking in at 265, sunderland 150). It's a bit outdated but if anything, I'm guessing Liverpool and Manchester United (Liverpool became good again, Manchester United has a Norwegian manager) have gained more than other clubs have.

Russia has been banned from the 2022 World Cup.
Russia's ban from all major sporting events after a doping scandal has been cut to two years by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
The ban still prevents Russia from competing in the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, set to be held next year, and football's 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Russia was initially given a four-year ban by the World Anti-Doping Agency.
Cas said the reduction of the ban should not be seen "as any validation" of Russia's conduct.
The ban will now run until 16 December 2022, meaning Russia is also banned from competing at the Winter Olympics in Beijing in February.
Russia will be allowed to play at next year's delayed Euro 2020 tournament because European football's governing body Uefa is not defined as a "major event organisation" with regards to rulings on anti-doping breaches.
Wada declared Russia's Anti Doping Agency (Rusada) non-compliant for manipulating laboratory data handed over to investigators in January 2019.

Wow
1. I can understand that the punishment should be severe 2. But to ban a whole country from all sporting events? 3. All the poor athletes who did not do doping
|
a) the punishment was lessened by the CAS, so not sure why anyone would cry now about it being too severe b) they can still compete, as they did during the last olympics, under neutral flag

The footballers cant compete under a neutral flag for the world cup...

It is totally ok for russia not to be able to compete since russia was not cooperative since 2012.

Pretty sure Klopp doesn't have the slightest clue why he was given the FIFA award for best coach of 2020. But then, 2nd place was Bielsa who probably also wouldn't have had a clue how he ended up ahead of Flick.

Did Penaldo really think he would get the award this year?
