Also, southgate needs to go, any manager that has Grealish on the bench needs to go He just got us to our first final in 55 years and has improved every time. His results have been good but his playstyle is very boring. It'd be nice if he could change that up considering the talent England has. Yeah, the English performance has been way more entertaining in the last decades. Watching them winning sucks. Fire the manager and get someone who honors the English tradition! THey lost on penalties and didn't get the title, what other traditions are there besides that? Fans arguing about the manager being stupid - check. Fans expecting the title - check. Losing on penalties - check. No title - check. Threats to those who missed - check. All traditions are being followed no matter how horrible they are.
They beat Germany. Not all traditions are being followed properly!

my main concern with the italian squad is once bonucci and chiellini retire, who's going to be in the back? only name i can think of is romagnoli.

Isn't rapid testing required for all travelers landing in Greece? What is the problem?

I’d assume that given this is Greece and Turkey the problem is most likely Cyprus.

Ceferin has said he doesn't like the multiple host country format of these Euros and it will not happen again while he is president. He believes it is fundamentally unfair.
I agree and am glad to hear it.

I agree and am glad to hear it. Booooo.
I like the idea but this implementation was bloody awful, and it was the worst possible time to attempt it too.
Things like travel logistics, massive disparities in that and in host cities would really need to be considered but are apparently too much effort.
In theory a summer feast of football with various city breaks of travelling about would be great craic.
Partly for me anyway, because the traditional decamping to a designated host nation is going to get harder and harder to implement given how big the Euros are now. It’s going to be big powerhouse nations or co-hosting from now on anyway.

Yeah, the multiple hosts system still seems nice, it just needs to be implemented with care. It's way better than a single host country pushing up all kinds of temporary solutions that are unsuitable for any sustained use after the tournament.

best way to do multiple hosts is to do it like the world baseball classic. have a country host a group each then have playoffs in one single country.
but yeah covid didn't help logistics one single bit.

Multiple countries is unfair stupidity and I hope I won't see it again. At least in sports I watch, leave it for sports I don't care about.

One country is better (or two small ones like Netherlands/Belgium). All the players and supporters in the same place give a better atmosphere, it is more magical. And only one team as adventage, not a dozen.

When I think of smart way to utilize co-hosting responsibilites, it's definitely neighbouring countries with joint responsibility, not some all-over-the-place mix of countries everywhere.
Basically it's like the old traditional system, it just doesn't have to constrain itself to one country so strictly. For example there are plenty of options to mix together Nordic countries depending on what's efficient and meaningful for all parties. With current 6 groups you could have 3 countries hosting 2 groups each and narrow it down from there as the tournament goes.
The more countries involved, the more teams with home advantage obviously, but I think I'm willing to go with it as long as it enables smaller countries to host the tournament without having to make unreasonable stretches to accommodate everything that goes with it.

One or two countries as host and then a game in Abu Dhabi and a game in Moscow and a game in China because money

Safe to say England won't be hosting any games in the foreseeable future.
The violence inside Wembley in the build-up to the Euro 2020 final that saw fans clash with each other and stewards is to be investigated by the FA.
There was chaos on Sunday as hundreds of England fans without tickets pushed past security and hurdled barriers to make their way into the stands.
Now it has been claimed that at least one steward took cash bribes to allow ticketless England fans into the ground.
The Times reported on Tuesday that one ticket holder, who did not want to be named, had seen a steward taking money to let people past security.
“It was shocking,” she told the newspaper.
“I’ve never seen anything like it in my life. It was a large wad of cash. His pockets were full of money.”
She said that, once inside the ground, she repeatedly told stewards there were ticketless fans, but that one supporter produced a knife he had hidden in his hair when challenged.
Another England supporter, TV presenter Matthew Stadlen, told PA Media that a steward at Wembley told one of his friends they had accepted bribes from supporters to let them into the stands.
Stadlen described security at Wembley as an “absolute shambles”, saying he was “gobsmacked by the lack of policing” at the stadium.
Yahoo News UK has approached the FA for comment.
Footage posted on social media showed ticketless fans forcing their way through barriers and a line of security staff before rushing up the escalators.
There were reports of genuine ticket-holders being afraid to confront ticketless people who had taken their seats.
FA chief executive Mark Bullingham told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme on Monday: “We will do a full review and we will work with the police to catch anyone involved and make sure we can prevent it ever happening again.
“Anyone caught will obviously be banned and have the right action taken against them.”

I agree and am glad to hear it. Iirc the problem was that nobody was willing to host it on their own since the costs are for the host nation while the UEFA gets all the benefits. Not to mention that some of the demands from UEFA are excessive.
I'll echo some others in the thread that I think multiple host nations is fine but the implementation was very poor this time.

I'm just gonna chime in to say that in the event of several host countries, I think it's good that the host countries get to play home field as much as possible.
Obviously it's an advantage, but for championships, I want it to be as lively and exciting as possible more than I want to get a perfectly fair result.

IIRC the problem was that Platini needed votes from the small organizations, so he spread the UEFA hosting across the UEFA members - that's how we got the Baku.
The championship is after a long season, for the top PL players VERY long season. Keeping the travelling low helps the player and the fans as well. Nobody says it has to be in 1 country, but travelling across the Europe 3 times in a group is stupid. Travelling through different climates is stupid either. Keep it in a cluster of countries if you want to, but keep it together.
Less travelling helps players and helps fans as they can then attend more games.
Editus> Also if nobody would want to host it maybe UEFA lower their requirements? If they're as stupid as FIFA there are plenty to remove and nobody would be hurt. In the end they're not "for profit" organizations xD BEST JOKE EVAH!

Next Euro is in Germany, so travel times will be quite a alot better
