The thing that is surprising to me is that they still have both of them on the team and let go all of their WRs without bringing in a high profile replacement. They're both making pretty much every down back salary.

It's unclear if the $715,000 difference was converted to a "signing" bonus to create a bit of additional cap space, or if Stewart took a straight pay cut. Either way, Stewart's roster spot isn't in jeopardy due to an enormous amount of dead money ($18.185 million) it would create if Stewart were released. http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/4650/jonathan-stewart

Truthfully it shouldn't make a difference, pro days are massively overrated. The interview should be where a GM tries to evaluate a QB. Can that QB break down their playbook and explain why they take the actions they do? Do they understand what the offense is trying to accomplish or is it all just "I make read A and throw to receiver Z because thats what happens".

In other news, I am really happy that Vick's career is finally nearing an end

Because we have seen how incredible having a fairly competent QB on a low salary figure can be with teams like San Fran and Seattle.

I've not seen much of Bortles at all, and although I love Johnny Football as a college player, I think he's not as great as an NFL player. Very small for a dude who will be running a lot, and his throwing motion is pretty meh.

I don't get the premise of this column. I didn't think it was possible to be more stupid than driving home shitfaced as a millioniare athlete, but doing it as a billionaire owner takes the cake. Why the hell should the league hammer players for doing dumb shit, but give an owner a pass?? Weztel is usually good too

If anything, the fact a billionaire put himself in a position to be arrested as he was should be an indication of how deep the problem is for him. It could even be interpreted as a cry for help. I didn't see Weztel implying we or the NFL should give him a pass, but rather advocating compassion for a deeply troubled man.

One of the most overrated franchise in all of sports. They couldn't provide a good supporting cast to Manning and they are doing the same crap to Luck. Many of their personnel moves the past couple of years has been laughable.

I'd be willing to bet the Colts win 1 or more SBs in the next 10 years. As for the owner, I tend to think that whatever problems billionaires have, they'll end up just fine.

That move presently looks like a disaster.

We'll see this season if it was just a "sophomore slump" or he really isn't worth a late first round pick. Even if he for some reason never plays another NFL play, I think the trade was solid gamble on giving up what they did vs what they could/should have gotten out of it.
