Look at the Baltimore Colts moving to Indianapolis overnight, or the Minnesota North Stars moving to Dallas, or the Seattle Sonics moving away from Seattle. People DON'T take kindly to teams moving, so I don't know what your point is. i don't think americans look at sports any different than europeans do and i think your post is kinda lame. @savage i am rooting 100% for bayern. go german football. I'm glad that your Norwegian-based outlook could, in two lines, give us such a great perspective on American sports culture and why I was wrong. Truly astonishing.

Hint: In case you can't detect sarcasm, you're going to have to offer a little bit more than "you're wrong". hey, i don't think you understand how we norwegians look at sport. it's not just a drug abusing competition over here. we actually take have integrity and honor... no, wait, this isn't how you post. sport is an universal concept, everyone sees it as a cultural past time and most people compete/watch with integrity and honour. i don't think anyone would take kindly to a big team moving city. you can make your point without getting aggressive, chillax.

Plenty of moves have been harshly criticized and teams get a LOT of hate for it, even years later. Even so, what you're failing to understand is that teams almost always move because the city forces them out, and so with some moves (mostly moves that happened in the early years of sports, several decades ago), people aren't incredibly upset. A club being unpopular (for a number of reasons) or the city and the team not coming to an agreement on how to fund a new stadium are usually the main catalysts for a team moving, and this is more of a "get the fuck out" from the community. hey, i don't think you understand how we norwegians look at sport. it's not just a drug abusing competition over here. we actually take have integrity and honor... no, wait, this isn't how you post. sport is an universal concept, everyone see's it as a cultural past time and most people compete/watch with integrity and honour. i don't think anyone would take kindly to a big team moving city. Again, what's your point? Yes, sports are a universal concept, but they mean very different things in different cultures, and this is a perfect example. There are a number of reasons that U.S. sports are far more competitive than European football, and part of that is a culture that discourages selling out (in sports) like the vast majority of football players do.

Nobody in Spain remembers how much Figo earned, or how many titles he won, hell most people can't even remember he got a Balon d'Or for his season at Barça in 2000. What all the country remembers is how he betrayed his club and left to the greatest rival, one week later after saying he never would. That is what everyone knows about him, and what will be remembered in 20 years xD I sure don't think the money is worth all the hate, when you could have been a loved hero and still pretty fucking rich. Tbh I hope the kid breaks his leg so everyone talks about the judas curse, making other players think twice about it xD Yeah, what Götze has done is similar to what Figo did. Fucking shame too, because both players could have made history at Dortmund/Barcelona and instead they'll just be "another" player in a star-lineup hated by many people in the country.
