Fuck yeah Serral did it again!!! Cant wait for the korean fanboys make up excuses on how he still is not the best player atm.

Well as we just saw he has issues against Terrans and the top terrans were not there(TY, Maru), so technically we don't know. Both Maru and TY are a level above Innovation(or at least they were from what we know). Even Gumiho is better than Inno in my eyes(though not that much of difference). And since Maru was winning Code S ...

I think INno got better than Gumiho during BlizzCon period

HOWEVER, Gumiho would be good at the uThermal style so depending on how viable it really is Gumiho might be better vZ

Even if, both Maru and TY were level above Innovation if we go from the old data. So "now Serral is the best because he has beaten 2nd grade Korean Terrans" doesn't really apply.

Serral is the best just because he is. His ZvT isn't the best in the world, but his others matchup are; Maru keeps dying to Protoss so it's not like he hasn't weaknesses. Serral wins every tournament, Maru doesn't.

Serral didn't win the WESG were he lost to Maru. Thus you're lying about Serral winning every Tournament. Also Serral didn't won Katowice.

Please stop lying, Serral really doesn't need such lies.

It's not like he WON every tournament, he WINS every tournament. I am not lying, lol! Serral was the top or top 3 foreigner until May, so probably like top 10 player in the world. THAT Serral was defeated the way you are saying; then he became GODral, started winning everything offline and he still is.

Well I just gave you 2 examples where he didn't win. You didn't say "Serral won everything from May", you wrote Serral wins every tournament. Wasn't true, was it?

You should know i was referring to that, I said it already many times before. Or maybe your literal interpretation led you believe i meant Serral won every tournament he ever played since his very debut xd?

He is the foreijwa as he has a total domination of 1 year in the foreign scene.
But bonjwa for now is ridiculous, there are not enough matchs if he manages to have a second year like this why not...
But still, I might be to nostalgic but I don't think there's a zerg player with Life's genius even if he was not as regular as serral.

That's an excellent statement concerning the player who just destroyed the Korean WESG qualifier without dropping a single map.

I don't really know why you would think it important how someone predicted a match to go. Most of us are wrong about the scores all the time. If we weren't, we could live on betting alone.

I don't think Serral is a bonjwa in the sense of being one of the greatest careerwise. Even though that's not how most people would necessarily define bonjwa, I still believe that is an important requirement. The broodwar bonjwas did not only have the most dominant peaks but if you were to have a greatest of all time list, every bonjwa and Jaedong would be in the top 6 of that list. And tbh in terms of achievements, Serral still has a long way to go before he's considered among the greatest of all time in all eras (if I were to guess he is somewhere in the top 20) but if he continues this run for a another year or two, then it is a possibility. But for now, I am comfortable with saying he is the best in the world and his run is one of the more impressive, but calling him bonjwa is premature.

He definitely already is in the top 10 or even top5 if we take into account premier victories(six), but of course those can't count because they were not GSL.

His year has been the most dominant ever as he added an unbeatable second half of the year to a good first half(Maru did the opposite but failed when it counted the most).

It's important cuz I imply you're a korean fanboy, so your opinion does not really matter for me.

This, 10000 x times.

I dont understand this arguing about Maru anymore. He had his shot in 2 tournaments to win against the best and he failed to get to finals both times. I dont care if it was cheese. I dont care if it was team-mate. I dont care if he stopped believing Jesus and failed that way. I dont care if he didnt care enough to win either of them.

Serral has consistently won against all top players in the world with a record of 40-0 in last biggest 7 tournaments outside GSL. He hasnt lost even one time. Not once. I spell it to you now:

H.E H.A.S. N.O.T L.O.S.T A. S.I.N.G.L.E. O.F.F.L.I.N.E B.O. 5. O.R. 7. S.E.R.I.E.S I.N. A.G.A.I.N.S.T T.O.P P.L.A.Y.E.R.S. I.N. T.H.E. W.O.R.L.D. I.N. L.A.S.T. 40. G.A.M.E.S

Has beaten Dark, Innovation, Rogue, Maru, Zest, Stats, Soo, Bunny, Trap, Classic etc.

Many of them even multiple times. Most of them being pretty one-sided for Serral´s favour.

Maru hasnt been able to get even to finals in 2 events, where ALL THE BEST PLAYERS have been playing.

I dont keep GSL so tough competition anymore, since it clearly doesnt have all the best players anymore, so someone even the like of Maru can win a trophy.

It will be interesting to see, if some Koreans can challenge Serral with new patch and all in 2019. Maybe he starts playing bit more relaxed to give others chance to win something too.

For those arguing for or against bonjwa without any metrics to go by, he is in the range where you can argue for him being a bonjwa but not necessarily comfortably. Bonjwas typically won 4-7 premier tournaments in their "reigns" with a smattering of top 4 finishes mixed in. Importantly, they also were allowed to lose premier tournaments here and there- so for Serral fans wondering, he would have to fall off rather abruptly to discredit his claim. As long as he wins a reasonable amount next year, with all competitive finishes, his status is just an inevitability at this point.

I would give you 2/10 for the try, nice bait.

But can we talk a bit about how the winrate of 2rax/3rax vs zerg in tournaments has to be absolutely insane. I never see this strategy lose.

Serral actually already has Bonjwa level dominance but I agree some of his premier victories were not against the stronger korean scene, even if his most important ones were; I am sure he needs to go to Korea and win to be acclaimed as the first sc2 Bonjwa.

What does he have to lose?
Not money, as GSL pays more than WCS.
Not practice, as the best Terran and Protoss are in Korea and with this patch being harder for Zerg it would be a legit smart move to go there to train.

I think serral was the best player in the tournament for sure, but if definitely doesnt sit well with me that some of the games were won by shitting creep tumors in the entire map for the first 10 minutes while the terran played TvCreep and nothing else happened.
So... what that make you? Good? You're not good. You just know how to hide, how to lie
