Dreamhack is still the best tournament organiser out there (Hi Blizzard) Leenock is prob the best Zerg on the planet at this moment Nani could probably still cut it in the later rounds in Code S. Yes Leenock didn't even make it out of the R032 in the current GSL Nani could be in Code S, but not in the later rounds. As I said, Leenock got bounced in the first round. Leenock did not get "bounced" he just sucked with his build order choices, everyone's entitled to a shit day. So good that a shit day consists of beating Life in the process.
Okay, but how does winning this tournament prove he's better than Life? Or any of the other top Korean zergs who weren't in attendance?

Nope, I-series is much bigger than any even most countries have, but people just don't tune in

so what we learned. Zergs still powerful. Protoss is getting better but still needs buffing. and Terrans n perhaps need a buff as well.

He had a REALLY easy road to the finals. All foreigners to the R08 and then someone with incredibly shit ZvP. Naniwa beat MC and YugiHo during group stage, then TLO, Sort Of, Jaedong and then went toes to toes with Leenock .... Who can top that as a foreigner ? Stephano ? ... As much as I love the kid he lost RO16 against coca after having the easiest group ever. Lucifron ? RO64 ..... Any other Terran ? LOL Sase maybe ? Ro16 WCS and an ok run, loosing to Hyun is no shame but that doesn't match what naniwa did We will see after WCS europ, but frankly I don't see who can dispute him the throne right now and even if he is not #1 there is nothing tot lol about. Still bitter about Lucifron losing out because of a stupid coin-flip. Dude deserved to make the next stage. Technically he deserved what he got. He knew the rules going in. Winning one more map would be "deserving". Uh huh. I think you're just one of those guys who likes to argue for the sake of arguing after reading several of your posts. Excellent post, great addition to the discussion. He had multiple chance to win in tie breakers did he? No. Rules are rules. Wow, he's right though... My point still stands, Lucifron had multiple tie breakers and he couldn't get it done. This is not a tournament where tyhey can spend 10 hours going through 10 rounds of tie breakers.

I really enjoyed this tournament

Leenock played really well. But damn those mutas as scary at high level as on ladder O.O

Leenocktopus wins!
A valiant effort by naniwa.

Maybe we learned the game overall is great and ZvZ needs a solution to Muta vs muta. No buffs or nerfs needed based on 1 tournament.

Is there any reason the prize money is so low? I was sort of shocked just now upon checking Liquipedia that Leenock only won around $9,000. Assumed he had just won $50K or so!

Check his groups and his run. Beating all those opponents and driving Leenock to the final game. Solid play throughout. Out playing Leenock in both the games he won. REALLY EASY. Fuck off. You have no idea about starcraft, Dude calm down. I know he beat Yugioh and MC so obviously he had to play well to get to this point. You can't deny though he can a far easier run then Leenock for example. Saying that he is clearly the best foreigner right now is just dumb. Lucifron got coin flipped out. Stephano had to play his worst matchup vs a top Korean. Vortix and Scarlett weren't even here. There is no reason to say Naniwa is undisputedly the best foreigner. Everybody chill please. People tend to measure the level of progamers based on one tournament result which has a lot to do with luck. Every other day I hear "XYZ is currently the best player in the world/foreigner". I think there should be some kind of continuity in results, not "ZOMFGLOL PLAYER X WAS RANKED 2; HE IS THE BEST FOREIGNER ATM", when clearly, some of the top foreigners did not show up... For example in the case of Stephano, you might want to say that he was THE BEST foreigner at some point.

Great tournament, but sad that only 2 Terrans made it to RO16 I'd love to see Polt crush Leenoch, but I'm satisfied with the results anyways :D

man this ceremony was so awesome because of leenock being such a likeable and nice guy! and we had actually a foreigner in the finals even though so many good koreans were there! such a good tournament! GG dreamhack!

THis! You always think it can't get better.. but then the next one is! Not really. Lack of Bo5s was quite disappointing... They had enough downtime too, imo. Still it was quite good especially with Naniwa doing so well. Well might be because my memory is quite bad, can't rememmber that much about last dreamhack well bo5 should have started in the semis atleast i guess, your right. for watching at home i personally don't mind a little downtime though, so i can do some other things and come back when the games start. + the DJ was amazing during downtime :D For their regular events they do Bo3 until finals which are Bo5. Last season's Winter finale was Bo5 from Ro12 to Ro4 with Bo7 finals. Well if they expand to bo5 quarter/semis and bo7 finals for their regular events they would need an additional day probably, guess thats why they keep it shorter There was quite a bit of idle time between games today, and with NASL they could have had another stream for longer (maybe up until the semis). Who knows what their reasons for the Bo3 decisions are, but "time" and "game coverage" don't seem very convincing.

Fanboys, anyone who says someone is the best anything is usually fanboying unless it is an era of clear dominance like Flash/JD/others had. MVP had an era like that as well. I don't think anyone would say the same for Leenock.

nice tournament DH. Will be back for the next one again
GG Leenock, well deserved win.
Personally I am happy that some euroboys atleast give the koreans some good matches at the bigger euro tourneys. Always nice to have a foreign hope alive in the later stages.

Look at the amount of events Dreamhack has for this year.
