Really? He had a REALLY easy road to the finals.

All foreigners to the R08 and then someone with incredibly shit ZvP.

Easy? He was in group E with 3 koreans. Later beat Jeadong aswell..

Apart from the 3rd group stage he faced 3 zergs. Jaedong is known for his rather bad ZvP, and TLO and SortOf are beatable in comparison to guys like Gumiho. Naniwa had a great run, but it could've been way harder.

Yes Naniwa got lucky not facing Korean Terran, but there were so few, only Gumiho made it in bracket stage. But he defeated lots of Korean zergs and MC

Guys the European tournaments always have fewer Koreans in attendance. Just deal with it.

REALLY?? REALLY? you're one of those guys.

Most moronic comment of the post. Check his groups and his run. Beating all those opponents and driving Leenock to the final game. Solid play throughout. Out playing Leenock in both the games he won. REALLY EASY. Fuck off. You have no idea about starcraft,

While im not really a naniwa fanboy one has to give credit to his run at dreamhack. He played really well in his pvz hitting very crisp timing and playing very smart. But i would not call him the best foreigner yet without seeing his pvt which has not been tested this tournament.

THis! You always think it can't get better.. but then the next one is!

Not really. Lack of Bo5s was quite disappointing... They had enough downtime too, imo. Still it was quite good especially with Naniwa doing so well.

Well might be because my memory is quite bad, can't rememmber that much about last dreamhack well bo5 should have started in the semis atleast i guess, your right. for watching at home i personally don't mind a little downtime though, so i can do some other things and come back when the games start. + the DJ was amazing during downtime :D

For their regular events they do Bo3 until finals which are Bo5.

Last season's Winter finale was Bo5 from Ro12 to Ro4 with Bo7 finals.

So Leenock played very well, but if you look at it objectively, it was not that hard. Only Gumiho and Hero were hard.

CoCa?

Well bracket play has a lot to do with luck. If JD would of won, he would of gave Leenock a run for his money in the finals

Well boys and girls, I sincerely enjoyed this tournament. Can't wait for the next DH one even though there will be other ones close to as good as this, hopefully. But DH tournaments are something special, especially when they're on DH's "home turf".

Naniwa beat MC and YugiHo during group stage, then TLO, Sort Of, Jaedong and then went toes to toes with Leenock ....

Who can top that as a foreigner ?

Stephano ? ...

As much as I love the kid he lost RO16 against coca after having the easiest group ever.

Lucifron ? RO64 .....

Any other Terran ? LOL

Sase maybe ? Ro16 WCS and an ok run, loosing to Hyun is no shame but that doesn't match what naniwa did

We will see after WCS europ, but frankly I don't see who can dispute him the throne right now and even if he is not #1 there is nothing tot lol about.

I can't believe you called out lucifron after he was eliminated by a coin flip... what the fuck

I'm not the guy who did, but it is still an argument to be made. Lucifron did not do good enough to advance without a coinflip.

Still bitter about Lucifron losing out because of a stupid coin-flip. Dude deserved to make the next stage.

Do you think yugioh and strelok didnt deserve to make it ? it was shitty situation if he was better he could have one a goddamn game vs yugi

Both games he lost to yugi oh on the tie breakers were his complete fault. I was so sad, but i guess being in that situation is pretty hard, specially when you already had a few long ass macro games already.

Not players.

We have iSeries but it only gets mentioned when the prize pool is actually relevant and worth tolerating English weather

I'm glad leenock won, he's my favourite player. Watching him play is exciting and you never know what he's going to do. Nani plays kind of boring, Feels like he has this one very hard to beat strat and that's pretty much it.
