I finished the October update of the E-Rankings StarCraft 2 World Ranking.

Quick disclaimer since this came up in the discussion last time: It's a results-based ranking, not a power ranking. It doesn't try to predict who would beat whom right now. The main ranking looks at tournament results over a rolling 12-month period.

The October top five:
1. herO - 11,292 points
2. Clem - 7,007
3. Solar - 5,706
4. Serral - 5,633
5. Reynor - 4,860

herO has now been #1 for four months in a row and leads Clem by 4,285 points. Solar and Serral are much closer, with only 73 points between them.

I also looked at just the results from the past three months for a more short term form ranking. It gives a different top five:

1. Serral - 2,383 points
2. Solar - 1,425
3. Cure - 1,235
4. SHIN - 1,166
5. ByuN - 1,143

So the shorter-term picture is obviously quite different.

Some other changes this month: Reynor moves up to #5, ByuN returns to the top 10, Percival reaches a new career high at #17 and several Chinese players also reach new peaks. MC and IdrA also re-enter the ranking at #30 and #38 after their BlizzCon showmatch.
