What naniwa did was about as serious as type gg prematurely. and that happens alot. People need to stop be so damn dramatic about this. Its like Naniwa comitted a crime and that you feel violated or something.
Get over it!! Sorry but I can't help but notice...
The swedes here are all jumping to Nani's defence. Come on guys. Take the plank out of your eye.

How can you blame him? He is pissed off and have no motivation to play after getting cheesed out of the tournament.
That last match means literally nothing for both of the players and shouldn't even have been played. It's a stupid format. It is far beyond most people at TL to understand human emotion. We want PROFESSIONALISM in ESPORTS, fuck how the players feel. -_-
Actually professionalism involves the ability to understand everyone's emotions. Being concerned with how only you feel is called selfishness.
Furthermore, since when did personal feelings allow you to blatantly violate rules and throw a match?

Honestly I agree with the people saying GOM should take action over this, something like a 1 season ban from entering any GOM run tournament. As Nazgul said if betting had taken place for this match......in no other professional sport would you see a player just throw a game like that, regardless of whether the match is meaningful or not - and if it does happen, a professional body will step in and take action against that player.

I feel so bad for quantic gaming.... their tweets before and after that naniwa game... so depressing

Just explain to me, I can't understand

From what I read every day in the forum, we e-sport fans are pretty fucking pathetic and fickle ... Swear we were either half bemoaning the cheese done to Naniwa.
I think the basic thing to say is that worker rushing at this level is just giving up, so we should just all admit that.
However, for his reasons, and towards professionalism, yes in most sports he'd come under sportsmanship rules, which can usually include docked pay or banning from certain events.
I think what needs to be done is for his mood swings to be worked on with the coach.

This is a tournament for the best sc2-players in the world. I´d like to think of them as sportsmen trying their very best and at the same time showing sportsmanship and respecting the fans. Naniwa may be one of the best protoss players in the world, but I´ve lost my respect for him. I can´t blame him for his behaviour, but I can choose to not support him.

If there were betting lines out of these matches it's absolutely unacceptable regarding that as well. I doubt Naniwa researched that so it's morally the same decision. He played in the tournament, the tournament was over for him and his opponent. The result has no effect on who goes through or who goes out. MC arguably not trying so Stephano got knocked out is more significant than this situation. You just gave Nazgul the best counter argument. MC played his absolute butt off when he had nothing to gain. please explain given this format, i cannot see how at any time losing a game could be "good" for a player was there really a moment yesterday where mc could throw a match and increase someones chances to get knocked out but he is not knocked out? or what? how does that work? and what actually happened if you dont mind filling me in
MC could have won or lost yesterday and he would have not only qualified, but end on the same spot I believe. (This is my belief, if what I stated isn't true please correct me anyone).
But anyway MC played really well and DRG even admitted being scared to lose at some point during the game.

I dont get how naniwa can be blamed for this...
The only reason Naniwa is there is becouse he wants to win. I dont think any of you understand how devastated he gets when he looses a game. Naniwa definitly wanted to concede that game but he had to play it out. In my opinion what gom did to naniwa was far more disrespectful then what naniwa did to the viewers and that game should never have been played in the first place.

1. Sportsmanship 2. He had the opportunity to earn money, partially funded by people who pay to watch the games. 3. It's not just about him. If Nestea is going to take the time to play against him, the casters are taking the time to cast the game and GomTV is taking the time to broadcast the match, then he should play. That selfish mentality is the whole reason people label Naniwa as immature. There's nothing wrong with that kind of behavior on the ladder, but when you're a PROFESSIONAL player, there's a certain code of conduct people are expected to follow. 1. he forfeited - I guess that´s his right is it not? 2. nobody forced them to pay for it - they want to get something out of it as well and actually do with this little stunt. 3.obviously it is - because people are watching and give a damn about him making a show - even PAYING for it. really don´t understand how people get so upset about that brilliant, probably unintended, PR stunt.
If he wanted to forfeit, then he should not have let the match start..
I can understand if you want to forfeit during a game, like any sports, e.g injury etc.

Polt needs to win this game if he doesn't want to play MVP in the Ro6.
|
I think we should stop the Nani discussion now, perhaps. There's a GSL Super Tourney Bo1 rematch going on. That's kind of a big deal.
|
MMA sure have something with Polt hahaha

I can't believe people think that Naniwa should be dropped from Code S for throwing away a throw away game after he dropped 0-3, especially knowing what kind of person Naniwa is.

holy shit, stim combat +1 +1 and armory and 2 medivacs finish ALL at the same time.
