You are from the Netherlands so I will just be ignorant here and assume that you watch at least some football. Many leagues are decided before the last series of matches are played, how much more drama would it be if the teams that had nothing to gain/lose would just stand on the field for 90 minutes?

As for comparing this to professional games, this is WAY different. To use the Colts example someone brought up, the colts games will at least determine the draft order for the next season, whereas naniwa vs nestea has absolutely no meaning other than pride. It would be more like a preseason game where teams use 2nd and 3rd strings very often (which could be seen as "throwing games").

In Soccer in the EPL, many teams which have 2 fixtures near each other may throw 1. I think there was stoke vs chelsea whereby stoke played all weaker players as they felt they would lose... and kept their 1st team rested for the next game... This is throwing a game

I'll admit throwing a game like that is pretty bad, but in my opinion that game should not of been played. I'm pretty sure they don't play games in the up and down matches if neither player can make it.
