What are the "standard" builds for each matchup? The OP hasn't been updates for a long time now.

BTW, Zerg builds haven't changed much recently. If an opener was good a year ago, it's probably still good. So everything you find from, say, late 2013 on is usually still okay.

How do I cope with the fact that I've sent hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of zerg units to their deaths; brought them into this fake world and ordered them to walk through fields of widow mines, tank fire, psionic storms, fungal growths, and acid?

Every zerg individual, every roach, every zergling, egg or larvae wishes nothing more than fighting for the swarm. They have an unstoppable desire to sink their claws (spit acids, grow fungus, ...) In any opposition of progression. Indeed they are bred to feel that way. So there is no way you can stop them from giving their life for a grander good (your good), you can merely direct them, give them purpose. Besides, we all know that the terrain or protoss will never stop in their eradication of organic life. Someone has to stand up to them (and kill them all).

There is something wrong with vipers and it was always been. I played today and tried to abduct some tanks and stuff and it worked from start but after a while nothing happened when I tried? Full energy and the same d-buttom but the stupid vipers just stay there and get killed. What sorcery is this stupid crap?

You probably clicked or misclicked something in between casts. Happens to me all the time, frustrating as all hell.

I run into this on occasion as well and would like to know the answer.

It happens most often to me when abducting colossi..

I think the problem (in my case) comes from when the colossi walk out of range and disappear into the fog of war.

IE: 2 colossi, 2 vipers, click on viper hotkey > D > click colossus > D > click colossus. But only one gets pulled because the other walked out of vision for 1 second before the viper could abduct.

I wouldn't think the above situation would apply to tanks that are sieged though... since they're not moving and all...

New Zerg here: I always forget if I am building an overlord or not so sometimes I will build extra(s) and sometimes not enough. Any tips?

First of all, make sure you have a good build: you should build OL's at 9, 16, 25, 32, and 36 supply.

After that point, try to stay about 16 supply ahead of your current cap, as you fill up supply very quickly off of 3 bases. If your cap is more than 40 supply above your current, then you're building too many =P

you don't have to build a 16 OL with hatch first unless you go 15 hatch/14 pool. you can build it on 17 and it finishes in time for double queen. it's not a huge difference, but i don't see any reason you wouldn't want the faster drone. for 15 pool you usually build the OL on 14 or 15 unless you're going to go 16 OL, queen, gas (or gas cancel), lings. but i find gas cancel builds kinda pointless. for 3hatch you can actually go hatch hatch pool 18 OL and then build 2 more drones with the supply from your natural hatch finishing

the specific supply isn't important as long as you think of your production in cycles and never spam units without producing overlords either immediately before or immediately after

the first few are build dependent, usually something like 9,17,26,30,40. Just try a few times and figure out, what works for your build. In the beginning, you can alsp quickly click the eggs, to check.

After that, 1 OV per base per inject is usually the best way to go.

Get used to a cycle: inject, build OVs, build army/drones, creep, back to your army/scouting (also see Day9 MCL videos for this)

This time I really took my time in game and was frustrated as a motherfucker. I flew very close to some tanks and pressed D about 5 times without anything happening. It worked in the beginning but later the ability disappeared. Is terran doing something with it's imba ravens?

Are you sure you hit D and not "S" or "F"? That happens to me too... =P

There's nothing your opponent can do to stop abducts, it's something that's screwing up in your micro.

Hey Zergies. What do you think of secret springs? It seems to me Terrans can position their mines at the choke point where the rocks are and you can't engage them because there is no option to surround. Any front on engage you take, 1 mine will get like 20 kills easily. From there, even if you don't engage, they can slowly move the mines forward, cutting off your main and choking you to death. Thoughts? I kinda want to veto this map.

I like Secret Springs myself but it is susceptible to a lot of different forms of cheeses, and really passive / aggressive styles from a Terran or even a Protoss player. I have faced Terrans that on Secret Spring go for 8Depot / 8Rax / 8 Refinery -> Proxy Reaper Rush, and Protoss go for Proxy 2Gate very regularly because of the outlay of the map, there are a lot of locations that your opponent can potentially Proxy you.

Also you have to keep in mind that in the middle the Terran CAN Wall off with 1 rax / 1 Depot and still put on reaper pressure, Expand behind it, and it will be extremely difficult for you at that point to try and baneling bust it or attempt a Roach / Ling / Baneling bust, because you essentially will be forced to bust through two walls ( The middle and the players Main, in most situations it will force you to over compensate and you will not be able to win with an attack ) , giving the Terran player a lot of options, even double expanding essentially with some nice Reaper, Hellion, Banshee pressure / harassment.

I personally feel that Mech is extremely strong on Secret Springs, besides that the 3rd's are difficult for Zerg to secure on this map and that leads to the early pressure from Terran being a lot stronger if you do not play safely. I really like Secret Springs and Inferno as I like to open different styles like 2base muta on maps like Inferno or Secret Springs where your 3rd may be a little difficult to get, in order to try and catch the Terran off guard. I think Secret Springs can be a really good map for Zerg as I have kept about a 70% win ratio on it with Zerg on several different accounts, it just takes some adaptive play.

How the fuck do I stop THIS from happening. No matter what comp, no matter what race I'm facing. It's pathetic that I can never win a single big fight. Maybe not wrong composition... I see some other options here:
1) geting supply block to offen
2) beenig behind in upgreades at least by 2
3) dosent produce enough Drones early on
4) fighting in bad engagement (fighting in choke, at ramp, geting surrounded, "A+Move" on mine feild)
You grafh shouldent never look like you painted by the all length not just the end

In ideal scenario Zerg produce as many Drones early on by cost of his army value and whan haves enough economy to overproduce oponent starts nonstop unit production to overproduce and overwhelm oponent by fighting in most open place. But I cant tell exacly wath You did wrong just by hand draw
