Blue bases are 6minerals 2gas Middle Superbase with 16minerals + 4gas, (500minerals/patch,1500gas/geyser) Tons of extra gold minerals around the map with 28minerals/patch. (~1mule, 4trips) One base consisting of 2geysers+such a mineral field
Hostile Turrets blocking the middle path (ground units will automatically path around it).
Geyser is high yield at the bases where there is only one. Rocks have 0 armor.

Process Send your idea for an interesting topic to the event's administrator via a private message to The_Templar. Two topics are randomly selected using randomizer.org at the start of the event, and then immediately made official. This way, no "cheating" can occur, and the administrator can technically participate as well.
Make sure you read the How does it work? section as well and feel free to ask additional questions in this thread.
FAQ:
What is the Map Jam & Challenge? The Map Jam & Challenge is a format by and for the community. The Map Jam & Challenge is a regular map making competition. The Map Jam & Challenge wants you to be creative and quick. The Map Jam & Challenge provokes thinking outside the box.
This is a format developed collaboratively by Samro and Scorp, and was motivated by MotM, CSL Map Jam and the Map Making Challenge.
Why do this? It is all about challenging your fellow map makers with some strange idea and together do a 24h map making jam that will produce innovative, fun and crazy maps. From this format ideas may emerge that can be implemented to competitive maps - or maybe not. There is nothing to win like beta keys, sorry for that. I have no giveaways, no t-shirts. Also I do not own this format. This is an idea that i hope can be run by the community itself, without judges, organization, etc.
I know many will appreciate this. Here it is all about making maps. These may or may not be played. This is not the biggest point. We are looking for new ideas in maps and for new ways to make maps.
How does it work?
Runs monthly.
24 hours to allow all timezones a few hours. Is held in the weekend to allow the most people to participate.
All participants send one topic to the admin via PM, e.g. 'rocks' and 'low main'.
By a randomized process two topics are selected among all entries and made public to start the Map Jam & Challenge. This aspects helps to have no 'cheating' like preparing a map to give yourself more time.
Within the 24 hours participants post the overview in this thread and upload their map to EU/NA (ask your fellow map makers at EU/NA)
Public Vote decides on the winning map. Map makers who think they have the edge in evaluating how good a map is, can message the admin with their choice to have a double-vote.
Win = Fun & Fame
Map Jam & Challenge #19 The Map Jam & Challenge starts Saturday, Apr 25 4:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00) and runs 24 hours. Topics need to be sent to The_Templar via PM until one hour before the challenge starts. This gives the admin one hour to randomly select the double-topic. Via PM we will keep all ideas secret and fresh for the next round maybe and the double-topic is quite a surprise for everyone.
Topics will be announced in this thread.
The previous events were administrated by The_Templar, Scorp, Samro, and RFDaemoniac. In future events, other community members may administrate as well, except no one besides The_Templar seems interested in doing so. If you are interested in administration please notify the admin of the most recent map jam.
At least one double-sided XNT, i.e. the tower is placed between two unpathable areas that create a long walk distance between either side, with no space adjacent to the tower for passage.
You know what I'd love to see again, although I'm not 100% sure if others would like to see it, but having another aesthetic challenge (i think it was like map of the month 3 or 5 or something?)
Although it'd be fun to do it in the time limit of a map jam. You release a layout (it'd have to be a good layout!) that is just all agria dirt or something and tell people to texture it however they wanted. Be neat to see if people come up with the same idea due to the layout or just how indepth people would go.
Or maybe it's just me thinking that would be cool.....
Either way! I'll PM you a topic sometime this week when I think of something awesome!
Sorry, I overslept. Deadline will be ~45 minutes later to compensate.

(TLMC-recommended design restrictions are: Normal bases are always 8 normal mineral patches and 2 normal geysers High yield bases are always 6 high yield patches and 2 normal geysers Don’t change values on Neutral units. Map sizes should be sensible; use the current map pool as a guide.)

that 2nd topic is pretty hilarious, props to whoever submitted
I'm considering to enter, even though I probably lack the time this weekend to make something reasonable. Problem is: I have no idea what the 'styles' of other mapmakers are which makes it quite difficult to imitate. Any pointers on that?
Styles refer to the overall ideas, that mapmakers tend to use on all of his maps, a good example of this could be the square natural cliffs on Namrufus maps + Show Spoiler +
Didn't have a ton of time for this one. Aesthetics are basically non existent. Map breaks all of the rules except editing unit values which I didn't see a reason to do here. I had the idea for a sec to put a XNT in the corners with like 50-75 range so that the edges had a nice point of interest pulling away more from the center, but the editor caps them at 32 for some reason.
Which of the rules have you broken though with the TLMC guidelines? Though I definitely like the style you have chosen to imitate Edit: Sorry, never mind I missed the spoiler. Sorry
Money For Nothing Using a different skybox for this picture, because otherwise the atmospheric fog blocks the overview

inspired by C&C, the broodwar map Crystallis, and of course a fellow mapper
Hope noone gets offended, I'm just going to submit some guesses on map styles: Minilisk: JessicaSc2 (lots of easy bases with Deadwing textures) Cold of Heart: Sidianthebard (because it rhymes with the name... and obviously because of the Habitation Station textures) Korhal Park: And G (because rocks+weirdly placed goldbases+simple texturing ) Basilisk: eTcetRa (because it looks like 4player Yeonsu)

But I agree that in general is very hard to recognize such things, specially if you are just starting working on maps.
Thanks for the clarification Uvantak! The only style I kind of grasped was yours, as I hear a lot about you and ramps... Anyway, stuff came up so I'm too busy to participate this time around. Shame since I had a pretty cool concept too. Hopefully next time!

thought basilisk was lefix, as the layout is very similair to evergreen terrace, and lefix does a lot of natural textures in space maps.

oh yeah, that's true!

ATTx, lots of straight cliff patterns, plus look at the greeting he used
Everyone else seemed to go for maps that were too big to fulfill the size requirement, so I did the opposite. Geyser is high yield at the bases where there is only. Rocks have 0 armor. (also pls ignore the misplaced main ramp doodad at bottom right)
included a real overview with a different skybox. The original one makes it impossible to zoom out far enough to see the whole map, which is why I only took that angle picture at first.

r3mnant was clearly lefix (natural look with space background is a dead giveaway, plus the layout/texturing is pretty lefix-ish).
Looks like negative was And G, I didn't catch that one although it makes some sense now that I look at it w/ the double nat thing going on; he likes to make those kinds of maps.

I tried to do some Meavis stuff with the two middle highground platforms and narrow middle path that I have seen a bunch of times now from him. Copied the Anihilation Station decals for the edges of the middle cliffs and I think I used the same textures for the middle ramps. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/sc2-maps/476377-2-annihilation-station-re
Obviously did not do the best job at this, but hey, it'all about having fun doing it, right?
