How can can he be pissed off? Judging from the press releases that both teams gave out, Liquid and Huk both made effort to negotiate a contract so HuK can stay with Liquid. In another words, HuK tried to negotiate a contract but EG simply offered better. Liquid gave FULL PERMISSION for EG to talk to HuK and his contract was bought out so it's not like he was poached. This was in the works for WEEKS and WEEKS, so it wasn't like it was suddenly sprung on him. As far as I know, Tyler and Huk are FRIENDS. You know what friends do? They support each other. If my best friend at my work place left for a better company with better pay and work atmosphere. You know what I'll feel? I'll feel fucking happy that he's doing WELL. I'll be sad that I won't get to see him and work with him but there's no fucking way I'll be PISSED.
I am really disappointed by this I'm sad HuK is leaving Liquid but i'm happy for him on a financial level after hearing the rumoured salary !!!! I hope all the best for him in the future but i wish he would have stayed liquid.
i think it's a great step for huk, and he's my favorite player and i understand his decision completly, he has a clear dream, and that is to win GSL, when theres a team who can offer you full training facilities, sick teammates, and a salary to chase that goal, you should go for it and everyone else would do too.
as huk and all of TL said he was willing to stay for like half the money TL could offer him, but that for his goals EG could offer him 12x as more..
Oh well, just another player then. Bad form by EG with the countdown though, we're the largest community and they make a spectacle out of buying one of our stars? Not cool Edit: And christ, he lived in the Ogs-Tl house, there isn't a better training environment on earth. Its just more money

where are people taking this info from
Dropping out in recent MLG early Dropping out in IPL Season 2 early Dropping to losers bracket in Blizzard Invitational, then losing.
thats a slump when you're a player of IdrA's caliber
Yeah if you dont win everything that = slump. :/
If you're coming from being an absolute top foreigner who is considered a top contender for everything he partipates in (including matches vs koreans), and you don't achieve anything except for in a couple of NA exclusive tournaments I think we can consider that a slump. I'd also say Idra agrees, based on the infamous quote from him we see flying around sometimes.

It IS sad because it is the day I realize this just any other sport, where money is power.
I agree.
But the problem is not with the players or the teams. The problem is the state of E-sports. If there was more funding around we wouldn't have these huge swaps like with puma and huk.
Uh, wait, what? More funding means more teams are able to buy out other players' contracts, meaning that shifts could occur more frequents, a la real sports.
Even with more funding, not all teams will be funded equally, and you'll still have situations like this where a better funded team offers a player of a lesser funded team an offer the player cna't refuse.
However, as stated in the article, Huk was willing to take a lot less from liquid compared to other teams. If only liquid had just a bit extra funding, I think loyalty + money > MONEY. The marginal benefit of money decreases as each team has more to offer. I'm not suggesting more money in the pockets of only one or two teams, I mean more money in general for every team to give their players a good salary.

Precisely. Imagine if Farewell, Liquid'Huk just popped up. Ppl would be surprised and sad, but perhaps not all that annoyed.
kinda reminds when mclaren signed Senna while Prost was still on the team. and if only old timers are out there, you will surely know the benefit that in team rivalry had on the whole F1 scene.
