If you are surprised or nervous for MOST games, then there's still too much randomness. Yeah, you're all right... the information coming out throughout the tournament's lifecycle will make it far more even, but there's still that chance for luck/surprise strats/mood problems to change those single games. But we'll see. Hopefully my gut reaction will be totally wrong. I'd like that. I think that a league which lasts several months and gives us a massive sample size of games is a lot more reliant to which team is the best than who wins a single three day long tournament which is jam packed full of games. I mean, some of those tournaments you'd have one of the grand finalist teams playing for like eight hours before having to play in the grand finals. There's a reason South Korea organizes like one match a week. It lets teams prepare and bring their all. It shows them playing at 100% with well thought out strategies. As the season progresses I think you'll see more and more NA and EU teams adopt Korean concepts of prepping for specific opponents that they play the following week. And at the end of the day the games that we eventually get to see should be ten times better than what we're used to out of these teams. I think a season long league is a million times better than having to judge the strength of teams based on who can marathon game the longest without succumbing to fatigue.

Jarvan also flashed, and he was going to lose the tower anyways. Shen got back into that game in a big way, every little bit helped.

If he wasn't going to help Xin (and I think helping would have been a dangerous call) then he should have ported immediately. The tower was lost no matter what and he could have come back and got most of the cs he got under the tower anyway. Instead he burned flash and was frankly lucky to get away with his life.

There was no way he was getting those minions once he ported. If you recall Jarvan stayed and pushed with that whole wave with bot. With Xin dead he'd be going into a 1v3 to get the minions? Hell no. He got a couple extra cs and traded flashes. Under the duress of that situation, I'd rate that a "good" play.

I thought the exact same thing, best casting moment ever lol. 4 for 4 in my predictions today, although it's not like I predicted any major upsets. Everything went pretty much as expected. Curse was trying to give me a heart attack though, they had the map advantage like all game long, but dig just kept winning team fights. Still great Day 1 overall, so far it's just as awesome as I expected.
