Totally off topic, but where in South Africa are you?
I am really excited to see how Col and MRN do this week!!

Study in Cape Town , live in Durban. Going to be interesting to see if MRN can keep going with the momentum they had in the qualifiers. We've seen Giants do that in EU so going to be cool

That's awesome! I live in Lesotho, very close to Tsehlenyane National Park.
I am definitely hoping to see MRN, Vulcun, GGU, and Col upset Crs, CLG, and Dig. Not TSM though

It's only a matter of time before one of the are able to take out of the the top tier teams.

I said nothing about skill level. I'm talking about momentum. Giants had huge momentum from the qualifiers. Why would you assume I'm comparing skill when I talk about momentum..

You'd have thought he'd burned that bridge by now. He's too smart to look a gift horse in the mouth. Despite that expression being awkward as FUCK in present times, it's totally true considering Wheat gets to have minimal involvement in the scene but get paid to do so. Plus Wheat has ALWAYS been riding the ESports train, nobody is more certified ESports than he. Its not even that Wheats not a legit eSports man, its just I can't think of anyone else who has publicly bashed competitive LoL more than Wheat has. Bothers me he can sit in front of his camera and bash the hell out of LoL on his own show, then turn around and ride Riot for a job. Rather see the job go to someone who wants it.
Do you know how much LoL I play? Apparently not. I'd really challenge you to go back and find all the times I've bashed LoL, and compare that to the countless times I've blasted Blizzard and StarCraft 2 for their lack of features and issues as well. You're just so far off the mark it's amazing. Do you really think RIOT would give me the job, if they felt like I didn't like League?

Sometimes djWheat is not the most diplomatic of people, but anyone who says this man does not love eSports is nuts.
I understand that there are certain people from the SC2 scene who have said things they should not have and there are those who look down upon others, but this man is not one of them and I think complaining about people for these kinds of reasons makes the LoL LR threads just as bad as the SC2 ones =/

Yay Lcs time again! ^^ 3 day break way too long
could this be the longest LR thread ever on Teamliquid? Since we will use probably use this one for the entire year.
I remember one MLG Sc2 event that had 1000pages for a single day though, but no idea which one is the biggest LR thread on TL.

Your comments comparing LoL to American Idol exemplified the argument LoL fans have gotten since day dot from haters of this game. The implication is that LoL is a cheap throwaway product with little depth (and by association taking a big dump on the fans that play, watch and love this game), which is the wholly inaccurate argument so many of us have railed against from SC2 and DotA fans.
Being a dude who does a lot for the Esports scene I'm sure you'd probably do better to explain the argument you were making with those comments if you had your time over. Just don't bury your head in the sand (nor expect people to care about comments on other games) as to why some people might be skeptical about your passion for this game.
