As far as I know is that it basically just works off of average Elo. For an average match the average difference from the mean for players is something like 20 or 50 points. However, the system weighs the contributions of higher elo players much higher than low elo players because Riot considers the "feeder" effect to be much less than the "carry" effect, which is why when you duo queue with someone of a much higher rank than you you just end up getting not just stupider teammates, but REALLY stupider teammates. As a result duo queuing to raise your elo isn't really in as much favor as it used to be. That's all I know, Riot doesn't make a habit of releasing matchmaking specifics very often, they've never released the actual formulas or anything so this is about as much as anyone outside the company knows. addendum: It also does some very basic practical stuff that you would expect, like starting out looking for close matches and then expanding the search as the queue timer gets higher. Also, if you really want to go rooting around you could try the red tracker which may or may not be useful as you wade through months and months of random red posts. | ||

The main reason why so many people cry about matchmaking is basically how their expectations don't align with the goal of the MM system, which is to produce fair matches and strive for a 1:1 WL ratio for 'every' individual. If you're a pro and you start a new account you'll go up real fast since you're not where you should be as far as Elo goes. What this means for a 'just-above-average' player is that he ''truly'' should have a 60% win-rate, but does not achieve it due to a combination of luck and lack of tryharding. Manning up and picking carries is almost mandatory if you expect to win more than 50% of your games. Or at least play something you're good at. If you randomly pick champs every game with no regard for team comp, you can't reasonably expect to win more than 50% of your games unless you're really lucky. | ||

thier now just range dps's they dont scale the best with items(bruisers and tanks do) they dont bring the most burst(mages do) they dont bring the most sustained damage(bruisers and tanks do due to carrys not being able to attack 100% of the time in teamfights) what they do bring decent damage from afar and escape mechanisms so they only work if ur team has the cc to get the other team on lockdown im probably gonna switch to ap and junglers if their isnt a big upset in the foodchain~ | ||

oh em gee casters burst when you attack from range you can hit better targets and more shots seems more sustained to me you mean a team with good amounts of cc makes a carry job easier... mind blown Sounds like you had some bad games and just took it out on the forums but i responded anyway~ | ||
