Sounds like you had some bad games and just took it out on the forums but i responded anyway~ All ranged carries have going for them is range, meaning they constantly need to get better positioning just have to jump in to tell you this makes no sense at all~ now i'm going afk so i automatically win, i'm right, #1 high elo player fakesteve Steve, think of it as how we need to micro M&M back against lurkerling. All M&M has is range and mobility, so they need to constantly kite and get position for them to auto with. Tanky dps on the other hand be ultras, you just a click a location and that's that.
or, if you have a big econ, you go 12 rax SK and mow it all down

You also need to consider when Riot were balancing ranged dps vs melee dps, the melee dps at the time were jax (small niche), olaf, ww (many played him more dps than the standard tanky dps he plays as now, plus he's more magic damage than anything), xin, trynd (needs a lot of farm), yi (squishy), and garen who at the time was just sunfire stack herp derp. (udyr at the time was basically just a tanky stunbot)
Then they came out with really powerful melee dps like renekton, irelia, and jarvan who were not only similar to olaf/xin, but also had everything a melee dps really needs with cc, a dash, and high base stats. These champs kind of make champs like jax and garen look like utter trash, because they could just build really tanky and still do tons of damage with little damage items, similar to how xin and olaf could. It also kind of helped create a really tanky metagame where melee dps can just build tanky and still do a ton of damage, so they can get into your face, kill you, and not die. That's something ranged carries can't possibly do, and it completely destroys ranged carries whose team doesn't have a ton of cc to protect them.

Irelia rene and jarvan are ALL very clearly stronger than the rest of the melee DPS which needs to be looked at.

No the problem is all the melee dps like the above posters stated. Free dash = gg range carry positioning. Very hard to outposition them due to dash, because irelia sure isn't going to bladesurge a tank.

ranged carries used to be faster and have more health (banshee's nerfs) and have more damage (inf edge nerf). and they were totally imba
now they don't and they aren't
idk if all those things together was too much but at least one deserved it

Surprise surprise. Guess why I have been trying to stop calling them carries and instead saying ranged DPS? I stopped trying to hardcarry with ranged DPS quite a while ago... Because I was so reliant on protection that it didn't seem reasonable.
Ranged DPS doesn't carry games, 100% true.

Yeah I know this makes me sounds like an idiot. A carry is a carry, regardless if it's a xin or an ashe. 90% of the time, when people said carry they were talking about ranged DPS. And ranged DPS simply doesn't deserve that name over other classes (anymore).

But seriously Kog Maw nearly has free madred's, what would happen if you just slammed as much DPS on him as you can and then built FM for kiting or other survivability to stop dying, just like tanky deeps do, so that you outdo the melee DPS with imba auto attack steroid and it's imba synergy with cheap items like Malady? HP stacking won't help them, armor stacking won't help them, the only thing they can stack is MR which would leave a good opening for people on your team who do physical damage.
