It just seems that you spend a lot less time beating on blue with lvl 1 stats, less time waiting for it to spawn, and get to lvl 2 and 3 much more quickly. each part is small, but it snowballs together into putting you a good ways ahead of traditional blue starts. Plus lets you do lvl 4 ganks with a fresh red and a relatively recent blue. oh, and less jungle jacking. only one you're really vulnerable to is straight off wraith jacks, but you can generally get mid to cover that if you start at minigolems. On one of my jungle Nocturne runs I found smite big wraith -> wolves -> blue -> finish clear to be just as fast as starting at blue. The only problem was that I ended with the same HP that you'd get without a blue pull and so couldn't gank right away. The problem is that I'm a white guy so I can't see the stereotypes very well outside of being unable to dance.

The thing I don't like about this is that you lose the option to steal THEIR jungle (which is a relevant option because most of the junglers that can afford to start minigols are powerful enough to do so), because your minigols are too far from their red side jungle. It basically commits you to staying in your jungle longer--something I'd only really want to do on Warwick, Amumu, and maybe Olaf, because most other common junglers benefit from the threat of pre-4 gank/counterjungle options. And of those, Amumu still really wants his blue. On March 17 2011 19:18 dnastyx wrote: I love doing this path now: smite big wraith, have someone pull double golem. Does this really speed you up? The big wraith only has 350 HP, so it seems like overkilling the big wraith doesn't speed you up compared to just using it on one of the minigols. And I don't think it helps you with any XP breakpoints (e.g. smite big wraith->lizard lets you hit level 2 off lizard). I guess it depends on the jungler--as physical damage junglers clear minigol HP more easily, while magic damage junglers go through wraiths faster.

It can't possibly speed you up because you waste time running from wraith -> twins only to have to come back down again later. However, certain champs are basically a free kill while they do wraiths because of how much HP they lose, so doing it this route probably keeps you safer and prevents wraithjacking as well.

I'm not saying I'm good. However, it's not unreasonable to assume some correlation between getting creep kills + buying the proper items and performing better at the game. Such a correlation would surprise me if it wasn't statistically significant enough to place me far apart from such idiots in matchmaking. But I guess, and as others have pointed out, that matchmaking favors speed over fairness? So I really shouldn't be offended when the mouth breathers come out of the woodwork? I seem to notice a severe decrease in the quality of players (on both sides) if I happen to queue with bad friends and we lose a game. After that point, I get a string of terrible players until I man-up and pick carries to raise my hidden normal elo. Anyone else notice this trend? It's really compelling to make a Smurf so this crap doesn't happen, and I don't need to be a commanding & carrying dick when I play with friends lest we lose the match. I'm just looking for some insight into their matchmaking heuristics.

The wraiths have lifesteal though as well, so depending how fast you can kill it the big wraith may have more EHP in a fight without using smite(im not sure of exact numbers)

I'm just looking for some insight into their matchmaking heuristics. my post was a satire of your bitchfest which made me cringe when i was forced to read it. regardless, it's the advice every "good" player will give you, aside from taking you under their wing and spoon feeding you knowledge. maybe you just didn't understand, since your allies are idiots, your enemies will be equally retarded. and lemme get this straight- ur complaining about losing the game when you don't take a solo lane? also you're complaining about playing with bad teammates that you QUEUE with?
