Myrnohrad is a total disaster, with several counter attack attempts got wiped and basically one way trip. And now its pretty much encircled entirely. Repeated number is up to 2000 Ukrainian soldiers over there.
Don't expect the war to go on in linear fashion. It's a battle of strength until cracks start leaking. Pokrovisk is a big one.
So, 2000 Ukrainian soldiers are able to hold off 50000+ Russian soldiers for 1.5 years. This sure does sound terrible.. Why are you worried about their lives so much when Russia is losing 30000 soldiers every month?
Also, Pokrovsk is not a big one, there's nothing there apart from some soldiers trying to stall Russia's advances - no critical infrastructure, no production facilities, nothing. It's not even half the size of Kramatorsk that's been preparing for this the entire war and it's the next big obstacle for Russia in Donetsk (and they haven't even started approaching it yet).
The onus here is on Russia to somehow prove they can take the rest of Donetsk so rapidly that the Ukrainians have to surrender it. So far they haven't proven they're capable of doing that.
This map shows Russian gains in the last 12 months.
Sure looks like Russia is on its way to capture all of Ukraine soon...
I am talking about myrnohrad. Look up high way of death. Not to mention Ukraine is likely losing their elite units like 38 bridage over there. Ukraine army is largely depending on them.
Pokrovsk is strategically important, not just the infrastructure but the position now destabilize a lot of front lines elsewhere
I did look it up. Recently Ukrainians have cleared the center of Pokrovsk (again) and also secured new supply and logistic routes into Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad, denying months of Russian efforts in the area.
It's getting tiresome hearing this "Pokrovsk is going to fall any moment now" for the past year...
I honestly think moving out of Pokrovsk is likely in Ukrainian interest by this point. Retreating under fire is hard and supplying units that are close to cut off is hard. Both increasing casualties compared to retreating earlier. It is very hard to judge without the information Ukraine has though it looks like it is time from the outside. Loss ratio drops or even reverses if you hold a point too long.
Land hasn't been what this war is about for a long time. Holding it just worsens your position.

Only issue is that they're causing absolute havoc on the Russian attackers down there. They're in good positions, door to door suits the better trained Ukrainians better, and perhaps most important, they are able to cover off Russia's supply route.
If one looks away from the humanity of it, just looking at pure numbers and statistics, Ukraine is winning out by holding on for as long as they can, making Russia bleed for every meter.
Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad are used as a focal point to concentrate Russian forces and hold them there as long as possible. This relieves other parts of the front so it's actually in Ukraine's best intrerest to hold it for as long as possible. They're fully aware that it's costly for them but they still do it because it's the best option. Any ground they give Russians for free just makes situation worse elsewhere so it's also a no go.
Russia has to take incredible casualties for very little gain. And due to the tactics they're employing whatever they do take is basically just an unusable ruin since all the infrastructure and most of the buildings are gone by that time.
Just a reminder that a month ago Zeo popped in to call everyone stupid for believe the propaganda that Pokrovsk was still being held, when Russia had already taken it. A bunch of us who are brainwashed said that what we were reading and watching said Ukraine was holding, it was very difficult, they would likely lose it but take as many Russians and equipment with them as possible.
I wonder which group is taking in more realistic propaganda? Hard to say really...

That's because Trump's friends are getting lucrative deals for Russian and Ukrainian natural resources. Behind the scenes oligarchs are talking to corpo overlords and offering stuff like 9.9% shares and a seat on the board in the Russian gas company to the friend of Trump's son etc.
To Trump and his cronies it's not really a peace deal but rather a business deal to carve up Ukraine between Russia and his friends (not even US as a country, just a few select people to get rich off of it).
It's fucking disgusting if you ask me. Trying to profit on someone else's misery. Absolutely heartless and can't even be veiled in some form of "national good" or anything like that because a few people who are already rich getting richer does not benefit USA in any way, shape or form.
Ukraine didn’t suppress Russian identity in the Donbas but Russia has embarked on a specific policy of eradication of Ukrainian identity in the occupied territories. As always every accusation is an admission.
50km SW of Pokrovsk Ukrainians have recaptured Novopavlivka and Ivanivka. This supposedly helps stabilize the front a bit there.
To illustrate the scale of Ukrainian determination we can look at Vovchansk. During WWII the battle for Stalingrad lasted 163 days before it was surrendered. Vovchansk is under siege now for 569 days and still holding.
Putin has signed a decree concerning "new strategy of Russian national policy" - in it is a mention that to the year 2036 95% of Ukrainians must identify as Russian. Ethnic cleansing on paper.
Ukrainian armed forces said that they don't care about any peace plan that would cede land to Russia. They know they're outnumbered but they don't feel outmatched and are not planning on leaving Donbas and Donetsk until forcibly removed by the Russians. They see surrendering the fortifications they have there as strategic suicide. Ukrainian civilian population stands with the army on this one and are against any deals that would grant Russia more land.
News from Russia:
Russian government has sold 135b rubles worth of bonds at auction in a single day.
Even with fraudulent inflation numbers the data is clear, consumer spending is at an all time low.
Manufacturing is crumbling, most sectors (tractors, internal combustion engines etc.) are down 30-40% YOY in terms of production.
Russia's biggest automaker is halving production and also halving worker wages.
Food spending index has dropped fivefold between 2023 and 2025. Physical volume and consumption of basic food products sold fell 5-10% last month (milk, pork, buckwheat, rice).
Rosneft (responsible for 40% of Russian oil production) is reporting 70% less earnings YOY for the first 9 months of 2025.
Russian tax revenues for 2025: 5 trillion rubles income below planned, oil & gas -21%, import VAT -24%, import duties -19%, import excise taxes -24%, profit tax and personal income tax -4%, recycling fee -44%.
Putin has signed Russia's budget for 2026, increasing military spending and cutting on socials. Also increased the minimum wage (clear sign of inflation getting out of control). The budget also assumes a target inflation rate of no more than 4% in 2026-2028 (currently it's at 8% but this might be a fake number).
Coffee to be replaced by substitutes (chicory etc.)
The most encouraging economic news I red from Russia is that they started selling their gold reserves which was a huge no-no for a very long time for them, since they are doing it publicly it's very hard to interpret that as anything other then a very big problem with lack of revenues from other sources.
Despite that, you have Trump and his cronies explaining how Ukraine is in huge trouble and "losing" while the pace of Russian advances basically ground to a halt again, almost like they are the Kremlin's PR team.
Thankfully they already stopped sending weapons and support so when they finally pull the trigger on their own illegal invasion of a country nothing will really change for Ukraine, hopefully Europeans have been working hard on trying to prepare for this eventuality with intelligence and munitions.

We are at the point where delusional Endsieg tier propaganda is being peddled with no basis in reality. At least until not long ago there was some sliver of truth, though distorted, but just looking at this last page things are going off the deep end. Imagine being one of the the UKR soldiers trapped in Myrnograd reading this. Horrible.

Your cope is infinite.
If there even are any left. Latest calculations showed that on average Russian stormtroopers live for about 12 days at the front.
Imagine being a Serbian Putin fan boy who has been predicting Ukraine collapse and accusing everyone of propaganda for almost 4 years now with exactly 0 of his bullshit coming to past.
I can't even imagine how rotten you have to be inside out to take the side of the Russia in every conflict they started, every massacre, every war crime, how close minded and fucked up do you have to be to just dismiss the words of everyone from these countries that have been attacked and brutalized, just a pathetic, brainwashed sad little boy with dreams of big Serbia and big Russia.

Well, the official stance of Serbia on this is in direct opposition to Russia though:
Vučić (president of Serbia) emphasized that Serbia cannot and will not support Russia's invasion of Ukraine, stating, "For us, Crimea is Ukraine, Donbas is Ukraine, and it'll remain so."
...
As a result of the 2022–2023 Pentagon document leaks, it was reported that the Serbian government had secretly agreed to supply arms and ammunition to Ukraine.

You seem to be obsessed with Serbia. There are helplines.
Edit: I've mentioned Croatia once in last 8 years here, and you crash out over Serbia in every third post. Chill out a bit, nobody cares
